Well, if it WAS a recently acquired pet and not from a family of hippogryphs they may have been breeding in the city since the shield went up, it could have flown home. Azsuna and Val'sharah both have plenty of hippogryphs. I finally got flying, so I can poke my nose into all the nooks and boughs without it taking ages to move around.

Blizzard have specifically said quite a few times that you don't need to fill them all up, just have purchased at least 1 in every trait.

No, it has been stated that you have to completely fill it. You have to place one point into the infinite trait in order to unlock the Tome. To unlock the infinite trait, you have to max out all other traits.

It was a little deceptive. They said you just have to unlock them all, which is true. It's just that to unlock the last one you have to max out all the rest. :P

I'm about 7mil from unlocking the last of the "new" traits. Do you mean I have to refill all the old ones too?!?!

Wait, I don't understand what you're saying. For the tome, do you need to max these :

Or these?

I have understood as you needed to max the second one?

Mhm. You have to max out everything - both the old ones and the new ones. You have to put a point into the infinite trait, which is only unlocked when *everything* is filled. I would know, seeing as I have finished the new traits and am working on filling the fourth rank of the old traits. The infinite trait appears, but you can't put anything into it until everything is done. It's just like how the 20 trait worked prior to 7.2. You could see it after getting all of the golden traits, but you couldn't do anything to do.

Aside from the fact that we can't unlock the tome till June or July, it is also nearly impossible to fill all of the new traits without higher AK. Eventually, it'll require billions of AP just to get one Lvl.

Yeah that's bs. And they said they don't want it to seem like a grind...

WELL DON'T MAKE IT A REQUIREMENT THEN WE WON'T HAVE TO GRIND IT

Sigh

Going to take me a minimum for 5 more months at the rate I play and with the AK steadily increasing.... and I'm pretty solid at least 3+ hours a day :( as much as 12 hours on weekends... I'm a bum. Lol

As I said in another thread I'm also really not happy about it : / I hope they reconsider b/c as it is you basically have to MAIN BM to get them. Whereas these kinds of pets should be default, imo, really (and I can't stand Hati...).

It's not something I'll be able to get in any foreseeable future, and I hope they change the requirements for it.

I hope they reconsider with a middle ground of some sort. However if they don't, try to take solace in Artifact Knowledge ramp gets pretty bonkers. The final trait we need (the first in the Concordance trait) costs around half a billion, but the ramp gets nuts too:

And as Lupen and I said in that thread, you don't have to main BM. Yes, it will take a while (as it should), but the AK will allow you to gain a ton of power. You don't have to ever even log onto your Hunter if you don't want to, aside to collect resources from the mailbox.

Have your main use Bloods to buy resources and send them to your Hunter. Said Hunter uses those resources to buy AK and to do missions that reward AP. If you ever want, you can do some WQs to get more.

The whole thing seems awfully daunting, but it isn't terrible nor impossible (assuming you're getting AK).

Random theory

I realize any number of legion creature could do this but it seems too twisted and convenient for it to not be true.

In the waning crescent, all those bodies burned, green fire...

Fel flame hippogryph having some fun? Wouldn't put it past Elisande to set her pet loose.

Those have been there since 7.1.5. The Legion did that.

Exactly lol its fun lore wise. And we never saw it happen. The legion was there. They helped of course. And just because the pet was added in 7.2 doesn't mean Elisande didn't send it to help in 7.1.5

She's got this sexy Fel beast at her disposal. And I'm sure it gets bored.

I did a pretty thorough search, didn't see or hear anything this pass. But I'll keep my eyes open.

Sure, it is possible, but that is assuming fel-corrupted Hippogrypys are capable of utilizing fel fire, let alone in an offensive manner.

Not only that, but there is no indication a fel hippogryph being there. No feathers or anything. Plus, the surviving npcs say nothing about Elisande sicking her pet on them.
