Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
As far as I'm aware, it wasn't entirely implemented in the ptr.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Trying stuff on the live servers now...still no luck taming a Panthara...I want one so bad!
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
I'm starting to think it's going to be something like the feathermanes, where we have to wait until we've unlocked something.

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Except there isn't any item that indicates that'll allow us to tame them. Myself and others have gone through the DB. Haven't seen anything.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
I don't necessarily mean 'thing' as in a book of taming. Perhaps its more of there is some event / situational aspect to do it. Kind of like that hippogryph. You can't get to it unless that world quest is active and it wasn't active on the ptr.

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
It's one thing if it is a rare pet with a unique look. Another when it is an entire subspecies of a family.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Well i can now say that using Enchanted Dust does not stop them from breaking the tame. I also tried kiting them to other mobs that would then attack them because of the AoE damage they did but that did not help either.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Tried the Personal Spotlight, and does not stop them from shimmering away.

It won't be something that would require you to be revered or exalted with someone.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Been trying a bunch of different things, felt dumb, came here hoping you guys had figured it out... feel better now that I'm not just missing something obvious.

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Honestly, I just wish these were one I could go in and tame. Feathermane for me was exhausting, and the patch for hunters (renamed porcupine to rodent) was well...sorry...I'm grumpy.

How about mage polymorph then tame?
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
I tamed the yellow Panthara this morning, but I couldn't tell you if there was anything different about it. When I went to go tame the other colors in the Petrified Forest, that's when I noticed the emote and started looking for more answers lol

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Wasnt sure if this was mentioned already but I tried using Light's Judgement when he "shimmers away" thinking it might do something...it didn't.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
I like that this has gone live and still has not been solved...but I also hate it.
Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
I'm seeing comments on the panthara pages and some people managed to tame the yellow ones this morning using flares and freeze traps. Not sure if it's something that happened by mistake, but it hasn't worked for me.

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
Has anyone tried this item?
http://ptr.wowhead.com/item=153219/squished-demon-eye
From this turn in -> http://ptr.wowhead.com/quest=49190/more ... demon-eyes
There's also some other items here that turn you into an eredar. Maybe those would work?

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
My friend and I thought it might have something to do with the 'wounded pride' buff on Apex but never got to test it because well, people kept killing him. We tried on other cats, it never appeared.
Then we thought, 'Maybe it has something to do with all the basilisks? That seems to be their main source of food aside from the talbuks.' So I went and pulled out my Basilisk Pinkzilla. Unfortunately we'd forgotten they changed Basilisk's skill to stone-skin, so we had no petrifying gaze (we had hoped one of us could use petrifying gaze and petrified it couldn't fade on us.) so that was no go either. -sigh-

Re: Panthara taming puzzle-solving thread
.. Could it be a time of day restriction? As to what color is tameable to time of day? Just a theory! Whatcha think?
