That's too bad about the toys :( Well, that was my only thought.

Honestly, I feel like it's something really simple and obvious (like frost trap) and it's just...broken.

Probably. In reality, a Frost Trap should stop them from evading the tame, since they are frozen in place.

I think the broken theory's the best. I've been poking at the official forums and surely with this many peeps on the case...

Exactly, Novi. Secret Finders, Petopia, and others have been trying to find a way to tame them, and there hasn't even been a thread found that we can follow. If it is implemented and working, then it is overly complicated and something that compicated shouldn't be used for a generic pet.

You don't think it has anything to do with the weird cave above Trueshot Lodge? Anyone found out what that is yet?

No, it doesn't. The old cave was originally intended as a way for Hunters to obtain the Rhok'delar appearance for MM, but Blizz changed their plans and left the cave behind.

Any bug reports for this issue on the PTR forums? Has it been brought to Blizz's attention?

I think it's bugged or what ever item is needed isn't in the game yet.

No one has reported it bugged since we aren't sure if it is or not. I'm guessing that it is either bugged or NYI, but myself nor anyone will know for certain until Blizz says something.

Thats a bummer. Did they say that in a tweet or something? I never follow tweets.

No. In 7.2.5, they changed his line to, "Unfortunately, there is no way to free him".

Blizz should've implemented that line in 7.0, or even removed him entirely. I know there was a lot of people that spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to free him.

I posted a question thread on the PTR forum in the official forums but I don't think anyone noticed. I honestly wonder if these guys are just borked/untameable for now.

Probably. We'll just have to wait for Blizz to confirm whether it is implemented and, if so, if it is even working.

I've twittered a few times about it at the various wow accounts, still nothing but silence. =P

So 7.3 is confirmed to be Tuesday now.

So either the trick is in the game, or it's bugged, cause I don't see another build coming in 6 days before release.

I could see builds coming, but they would be very small builds. Bug fixes or last minute balancing.
Though, I do think that it is bugged. Many, many people have been searching for some way to tame them, and nothing has come of it. I don't think it would be hard nor complicated to tame them, since they are just an addition to an already existing family.

Also, it is still possible that the taming method is NYI. Thus far, Blizz has implemented secrets only when a patch has gone live. It is to prevent people from discovering the secret during the ptr. Kosumoth, the Abyssal Worm, the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph, etc. could not be obtained till Live. It is possible that they have done the same with the Panthara.

The problem is that Blizzard's communication when it comes to this kind of thing is admittedly very poor. Also with riddles. Even if it's not ingame, we won't know for sure because Blizzard doesn't really bother to reach out and tell us, so we may all be wasting our time looking for things that are bugged or implemented, or it may be in and we can't find it.

I agree, Qraljar, that is the problem. They don't have to give us any hints or clues. We're just asking for confirmation on whether or not it is even implemented and, if so, that it is working. Without any confirmation, people are gradually getting discouraged or are giving up on finding the method to taming them. I still search every now and then, but I am about to throw in the towel until we either hear word from Blizz or until the patch comes out.

Gives me flashbacks of when they insisted that the Sha of Anger mount was implemented properly after what - months of it not dropping? And then one day they checked it and they were like "Oh we apologize it wasn't correctly implemented."
