Crab Aggro Problem?

I tamed the Steelplated Hardshell on my gnome hunter, and have noticed that "Rusty" doesn't seem to want to Growl...or at least, puts it at a very low importance among his skills. There's been plenty of times that my usual firing pattern has pulled aggro off the crab, simply because it refuses to Growl until very late in the pull - or if I manually click the ability.

Anyone else had this problem with this pet, or did Jenikel just tame a weirdo pacifist crab?

I named mine CitizenSnips too, lmao.

And yea, my Crab has an aggro issue as well.

Growl also randomly turns off auto-growl for some reason too.

I haven't used a Crab in awhile, but might this be due to Pin being a 6 secs channel skill? I don't think crabs can use any skills while this is channeling.

Hrm. Time for experimentation, then. I don't recall Rusty Growling even when Pin wasn't in the equation, but I'll double check. I may even tame a different sort of crab and compare. Thanks for the input.

Update: It does indeed appear that Pin is the problem. When I turned off autocast on Pin, Rusty promptly started Growling right when he was supposed to, and kept doing it.

Which means leaving that autocast disabled - whicb might be an issue for others, but since I rarely if ever PvP, Pin is not that huge a thing for me, and I can always tell him to cast it if I need it.
