Treasurewhiskers make a faint 'coin dropped' sound when summoned
I thought of sharing this neat detail! I tamed one out on a whim because, pre-tame, it drops coins as it moves. Unfortunately, it doesn't retain that but does retain the coin sound when summoned.

Does it now? Lol I'll have to listen more carefully when next I summon it!
Re: Treasurewhiskers make a faint 'coin dropped' sound when summoned
MMm nope none of the gold mice I have do that sound. What a shame!
Re: Treasurewhiskers make a faint 'coin dropped' sound when summoned
It does not and I have two of them, I tested them both out.
Re: Treasurewhiskers make a faint 'coin dropped' sound when summoned
My purple one doesn't make any coin sounds, but when I summon it it does make a few high pitched chirp sounds (the same ones it makes when clicked on). It couldn't be that sound, could it?

no, when using call pet, my golden mice make a coin drop sound. It isn't on click, just from using call pet. Having said, all my prior taming them, my golden mice have 'dropping coins' animation. Though they don't retain the golden coin animation post-tame, maybe only mice that have animation prior to taming make the sound when call pet is used?
Having said that, I tamed them at 20 renown and having completed all dig treasure quest achievements and did all the dig types. I don't know if this a part of the issue.

OK, I've uploaded a video on Youtube showing my golden mice make the sound, but my purple mice don't.

Wow, that's such a fun and unique feature, I'm glad you shared the video! Shame it doesn't seem to be consistent or on all of them.ApiBiru wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:29 am https://youtu.be/HVrYxbY3Ggc

I had to turn my music off and my speakers up really high but mine do make the sound after tripple checking!
Re: Treasurewhiskers make a faint 'coin dropped' sound when summoned
Because the sound is not bound to the ID; every appearance associated with the NPC can have different models, sounds and effects. Would be nice if the purple one got it too, that's true.ApiBiru wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:29 am https://youtu.be/HVrYxbY3Ggc

Yeah, that's the frustrating thing about our "sound on click" data, too. Those sounds are bound to appearances not models, so, like one colour snake will hiss when you click on it and another colour with the same NPC ID won't. So when we gather data on that all the different colours need to be tested :/Vesania wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 9:53 amBecause the sound is not bound to the ID; every appearance associated with the NPC can have different models, sounds and effects. I really should link that info to appearances.

I have to mention Orange Cave fey darters from thaldraszus have a noise when clicked, but the blue ones don’tWain wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 3:24 amYeah, that's the frustrating thing about our "sound on click" data, too.
