So, does anyone know he spawns at either end of the patrol path or anywhere random in between?

Well, about 11 hours and 45 minutes or so after I saw him on my druid last night (and got there only for him to have disappeared), my hunter finally found him up. He didn't manage to sneak off this time!

Named him Ghostcrawler because, well....it's the only fitting name I can think of :3

He was patting up the middle of the reef as shown on the pathing map.

Now I have another question, after a server restart - does all the rares reset? Meaning I have to "restart" my search for him. in that case, crap :(

Not really, as far as I understand it.

I was there moments after a server reset for the first time this week (was home sick when I am normally at work during those times), camping on Terrorpene, and he did not spawn for another four hours after the reset.

Juzelle, thanks for this map. I originally wanted to camp on the western edge only. After seeing the map, I camped in the center area. I have Ghostcrawler now... he spawned right at the tip of the of the middle path.

If you have addon routes, I have created a route map that matches the original map posting as much as possible.
Install addon routes
restart game (Exit Game and log back in)
Hit enter and type /routes to bring up menu.
Click ADD button and Give name. Example "Ghost Crawler"
Click on Routes,
Under import paste the following and hit accept button.
