Snort Has Migrated

No change in his looks, but apparently Snort got sick of being in that pit. He's taken a nice long walk to a tasty boneyard in the Southern Barrens.

Notice, even my NPCscan doesn't believe me!

Here's me hovering over his head, so you can see on the map where I am.

EDITED: Oh. One change:

Like many rares, he done got *big*!

I'm glad Snort has learned fire is indeed hot!

Wow, he IS big!

And make that two changes; he's level 31 now.

I guess the work-out required to escape the fiery pit has made him all buff.

Seriously, though, I believe they're using size as another way of differentiating rare and special beasts from those around them. It looks good

Oh definitely! On both counts.

It was something that Blizz touched on before, but which is even more obvious now. It's definitely a good thing.

Chatter likes it cause it means he can stay brown. ^_^ (Never mind that he's the only tarantula over there now...)

I also love the rares being larger than the beasts around them, just another way for them to stand out. ^^

Snort sure is in heaven there - the silly orcs and humans kill themselves, and he gets to feed on the remains! Sure beats living in a lava trench.

eek! if he gets to lvl 31 before i tame him on my 19 i will be sad!

So that's what happened to my Giggler, LoL. I logged on from being off WoW for a while and BooM, looks like a tank, LoL.

side note if anyone is looking for snort before the patch: my npcscan did not go off because i cached him as he was crossing from southern barrens into the northern barrens where i was camping. so i got the "definitely a pet" message.

Funny, I tamed in Dec and he was still in his Northern Barrens spawn area, just south of where the Harpies fly around.

that is the area where i found him, but he was walking right on the edge of the chasm, and it counted him as being in the southern barrens. didn't get a chance to see what direction he had come from, since i was tabbed out

It seems that his size has been changed quite recently, when I saw Snort a while ago he was still the same size as the other hyenas

Not near. He's right on top of it. Every single time I dig in that site, it's exactly where he's standing.

This is on the PTR. On live, he's still the same size, maybe a teeny bit bigger.
