I don't know the specifics on how it will work, but you won't be able to just keep that sort of thing if you leave the guild. They're there for guild participation and reputation rewards, you'd probably have to work in a new guild to purchase them again.

How would that affect the mount achievments? What if the guild land mount was your 50th? Would you loose your Albino Drake too?

It seems like this puts a lot of power in a guild master's hands especially if they can kick people from guilds.

Actually, I've heard the opposite. I'm trying to recall where but I think it was a Blizzcon interview. Essentially what was said was that if you gain the pet/mount/whathaveyou and GQUIT, you will keep the items and be able to use them, but you can no longer access the guild vender that you got them from. They didn't plan on taking away toys just because there was a regime change or the GM's girl friend started a drama war because she looted Ysera's Exciting Underwear (helm) as a rogue when its clearly caster gear.
I don't really feel like this is so much the "Post-Modern" era as much as its the "Pre-Zombie-Apocalpse" era. I consider myself more of a forward thinking guy and an era that just won't die is just as feasible as a coming era, where the dead come back.

The precedent for this is the original PvP armor sets. If your PvP rank went down you could still keep and wear the set pieces you already had, even if you no longer had the title.

Ooh, that will be nice if it's otherwise. I hadn't been following on updates for that, the last I had heard was that you had to stay with the guild to keep the rewards.

Well it would amke sence if you lost them asfter guild quiting. I mean why should you be able to run around on a mount thats for people in guilds when your not in one?

Because you earned it. :) My precedent showed that you could still wear Grand Marshal gear when you were no longer one, even though getting it at all still required the title. People running around on guild mounts without a guild tag will obviously have had enough prestige in a guild to have gotten them before they gquit/got kicked/the guild fell apart.

I hadn't thought about it in those terms before Agravaine, but it does make sense and I like the concept behind that. :)

I could see them making a certain guild rep required to wear/mount/summon guild items, so if you do leave or is kicked, you don't loose the items just access to them until you find a new guild.

Seems to be the middle ground, where they can stop people from using establish guilds just to get the goodies but not overly punish those who do leave their guild due to legitimate differences or are tossed out due to a power tripping GM.

That would be better. Yeah if you can only use it with the right rep.

Oh. Well if you put it that way, I'm sorry but I disagree.

As foretold by a Blue! (as of Nov 2)
You keep all rewards that you earn via the new guild system. Some require a specific amount of guild rep to use, but we never take them away.

Here's what I managed to dredge up from the Beta forums. To purchase the guild mount, you need to be exalted, and to use it you need to be exalted.

When you leave a guild, you keep the rep you had with them for a grace period (apparently it's 24 hours, but I haven't seen anything official). If you rejoin that guild, your rep stays the same. If you join another guild, your guild rep gets reset to 0.

I can live with that :)

Source: "What happens to reputation when you leave a guild?"

Ah, I see someone found the blue response to "Guild rep: if you leave a guild and come back".
