Pure. Luck.
Pure. Luck.
That was exhausting. . . Went out to try for Skarr but I found Solix instead. There were way to many people messing me up so I ran off back towards Skarr. He wasn't there but I found Kirix. He killed me roughly seven times.
Finally nabbed the little bugger with the help of my CH, Alastair, and named him Grell. I never want to do that again.
I also tamed a third Sambas and second Karoma today.
The next morning:
My birthday is the 29th so I consider these a few early presents.

Re: ...Kirix -pants-
Did you do the Rock way? Or did you try the super-mega-hard-on-the-ground-where-he-pats-and-you-have-to-disengage way?

Except that way isnt hard and doesn't depend on a glitch.meepitco wrote:Or did you try the super-mega-hard-on-the-ground-where-he-pats-and-you-have-to-disengage way?

That depends on who you ask. Personally, I consider the disengage method more difficult, but also more fun, than the rock method. Not that it actually matters, because a tamed Kirix is a tamed Kirix no matter how you got him and is worthy of praise either way! And on that vein, grats on doomspider, OP. <3 Good on you for toughing it out! I know how offputting a ton of deaths can be.Jessibelle wrote:Except that way isnt hard and doesn't depend on a glitch.meepitco wrote:Or did you try the super-mega-hard-on-the-ground-where-he-pats-and-you-have-to-disengage way?

Re: ...Kirix -pants-
True. I dont find it hard cause...well for one, you dont have to worry about rock hopping, being on the correct rock, or if you're on the wrong one, you'll fall cause it'll crumble. Two, Kirix is on the ledge, right there. Rock hopping takes time to get up there and by then, someone could've taken him.Caelan wrote:That depends on who you ask. Plus I also find it more fun that way. x3 It's like you're wrestling with him!
Re: ...Kirix -pants-
Congratulations!
Kirix is my favorite lava spider. It took me a few tries to get him, myself, using the disengage method.
With fewer people doing the Molten Front dailies, I kind of miss seeing 'wild' Kirix going on his little killing sprees.

Congratulations! Like Boven, he's my favourite lava spider, even over Deth'tilac. I find his glowy, lime-green skin really hard to not be attracted to.

I first tried the disengage way but I kept messing up so I tried the rock way. He evaded my tame but in hindsight i was probably on the wrong rock. One last try on the disengage method and he was mine.meepitco wrote:Did you do the Rock way? Or did you try the super-mega-hard-on-the-ground-where-he-pats-and-you-have-to-disengage way?

Oooh and congratulations on your Skarr as well! Best pet in all of the Molten Front imo, though he would come second if you could tame those Charhounds...

Re: ...Kirix -pants-
I did it this way; all the people who were failing horribly on the rocks were totally baffled as to what just happened. You put on your nature aspect, Disengage while in the air, hit Detterence and tame when you land. Unless you have bad lag (or run in at 50% hp like I did), it's actually quick and clean.meepitco wrote:Did you do the Rock way? Grats on the tames. I still need to tame Kirix and Skitterflame. I don't want to keep them just experience the challenge tames.

Is he named Crowley after a certain demon? Not from a book.

Hehe. Woot. Another fan! My Skarr is named Sammy. My Chromaggus Corehound from Blackwing Lair is named Crowley. I have a wolf named Dean, 3 birds named Castiel, Gabriel, and Chuck. Haha. Supernatural super-fan here!
