So, 4.2 is right around the corner, and with all that is to be expected, one would not want to miss out on anything the day it arrives. Therefore, it's best to plan and be ready come Tuesday
So, What are your plans and preparations for 4.2.

Mine are as follows :

{x} Make sure all quests required for 4.2 content are completed
{x} Clean out stables
{x} Take Screenshots of the released companions before letting them run wild again
{ } Obtain 148 vanity pets (so close! 145! )
{x} Buy a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth for quick repair and sale of unneeded items
{x} Have my Naked Armor set prepared
{x} Pick up a 'trash' spider to help kite Deth (Glassweb Spider... kinda creepy xD )
{ } Spec the Spider
{x} Know the location of the rares I intend to tame
{x} Get at least one Stack of Kibbler's Bits
{x} Practice Disengage to remove fall damage
{ } Get a Stack of Scrolls of Stamina
{x} Get a Stack of Potion of Speed
{x} Get a Stack of Elixir of Mighty Speed
{ } Organize hot keys with Elixirs, Potions and Scrolls
{ } Practice Kiting more to prepare for the spider of doom
{ } Re-spec one of my pets with heart of the phoenix for quick double sacrifice (So mean!)



Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. List your own 'To Do Lists', and feel free to shout out any suggestions

Get energy drinks check....
Clear 10 spots in my stables check....
get tons of buzzard meat check....
get potions of speed check....
tell raid team I won't be available for awhile check....
retame released pets on baby hunters semicheck...
log out in hyjal.... nope
have every taming challenge down to a t check....
pizza check....
movies check....
other games check....

I think i'm ready... probably missed something.

And also some outta game things to do... like clean up my desk so I have room for an energy drink. Darn all this art work <.<

(X) Have a NAKED button from the gear manger with 9 spaces open in bag at all time on that off chance that you meet up with the spirit cats

[-] tame a pet for deth/bribe hunter friend to help get deth [x] (yes I can do her solo, icecrown is heavily populated mmk.. no chances to miss her)

Be prepared to get 3 hunters into mount hyjal..

x Log out alts at the orgrimmar board for the quest that activates malornes
x Elixirs (20x Prismatic Elixir and 20x Mighty Speed Elixir)
x Potions (20x Swiftness Potion, 20x Potion of Speed, 20x Mythical healing potion)
x 20x Runescroll of Fortitude II (468 stamina buff)
x 40x Buff food (Basilisk Liverdog - haste + stam)
x 5/20 free stable slots
x 3/5 free pet slots. (Trash spider + trash hound for hysteria.. Specced and ready to be abandoned.)
x Jeeves ready or mammoth in molten front (No repair vendors there)
x Kibler's bits made (Farm AH for buzzard meat, as many as u can)
x Get naked macro for spirit beasts
x Respec for efficient taming (BM&MM / SV for kirix)
x Glyphs sorted for efficient taming (Ice trap etc.)

Food, stam buff and elixirs don't persist through death so rather too many than too few

[X] Stack up on Kibler's Bits. >.<

[X] Naked button. (Even though I think I'm gonna wait for the rush to be over, but it's still worth having it around incase I get lucky and run into Magria)

[x] Practice eliminating fall damage through disengage
[] Free up three stable slots on Caelan
[x] Free up one stable slot on Taizak
[x] Pick out names for Skarr, Deth'tilac, Ban'thalos (Caelan)
[] Pick out a name for Solix (Taizak)
[] Stock up on buzzard meat
[] Naked button, just in case
[x] Check and double-check taming strategies
[x] Gather plenty of gold for repairs
[x] Prepare to lose a lot of sleep
[] Prepare to have tames ruined or stolen
[x] Dread the coming patch and all its drama

EotS is great for this, since all of the bases are raised and you're highly likely to be in combat. Plus if you mess up (and go flying off into space *cough*), no durability.

Course, that's not nearly as high as you'll want to be practicing at...but it's a start.

Shame I don't like to PVP, but might have to give that area a shot. Flew on out to Stormpeaks... and I'm telling you that was a load of fun. And yay guild repairs for all purposes!

Updating my check list a little as well

Actually, I like to practice up by Aviana's shrine. There are tons of birds in the trees there, neutral, so you aren't likely to be unexpectedly dismounted, and you'll fall around the distance Ban'thalos will drop you if you're after him.

I am honestly kinda torn on this one. I'm debating preparing or waiting a bit.

Novi, I say it's best to prepare as in 'just in case' you come across that rare you wanted, or find yourself wanting to participate in the dailies. Better safe then sorry right?

Perhaps get yourself ready, but when 4.2 comes around, don't feel obligated to go out and push yourself to get it all done at once, but pace yourself and have fun.

Random, but anyone have a good place to practice kiting? Besides the whale shark that is.. (already achieved that) they move too slow. I feel like I'm going to have to survive the spider encounter and my kiting may not be up to par for it. Also, anyone know how many Deathstrikes it takes to get her low enough to tame?

I honestly learned by kiting those elite demons in winterspring for my level 60 hunter quest. I suggest some melee mobs, like urhm. I gotta think now. Cata wiped out most of the RAWR ELITES. Might try giants in Northrend I guess. Or those elite skeletons in Icecrown. I would stick to melee mobs.

Usually, I favor two tactics: Jump-turn shot, where I jump and turn midair long enough to fire off arcane shot or a serpent sting. Or: Sideways shoulder strafing. You CAN turn sideways and you move a /lot/ faster sideways than backpedaling. You just may need to be mindful of autoshot now that we can shoot on the run.

I'll probably do the dailies now and then and scout. For some reason I feel guilty getting a rare before a friend.

[x] Game to play in case movies and TV shows get boring (Okami FTW)
[x] Build a taming offspec with silencing shot, readiness and entrapment
[x] Gather gold for repairs
[x] Prepare to lose a lot of sleep (I do that anyway, so...)
[ ] Prepare to have tames ruined or stolen (I'm pretty extra sure I will never be prepared for this... ._.)

[x] Something I never thought I'd have, yet somehow pulled it off.... bag space.
