Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
The thing that irks me is not so much the set itself, but it seems like the Hunter set (and maybe some of the other sets) just went in a completely different direction from the Ruthless sets. The Hunter set looks nothing like the Ruthless set.

Paladin s11 is awesome! Whoever did that one needs to be designing more of the gear.

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
Meh, I like it. I think it's better than T13, and certainly better than Druid's S11. Paladin S11 is amazing though, but not quite as good as Priest T13 IMO

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
What gets me, about hunter gear sets in general (this one included)...
I suppose I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the Hunter class ... was one most often played by females - and, for that matter, are by lore a class that is in-tune with nature which needs a flexible, natural gear set (why hunters wear mail is beyond me, but hey, technicalities); this natural inclination towards nature is why hunters, until recently, tended to belong to the more graceful/nomadic races (Nelf, Troll, Tauren etc). I don't see why Blizz is insistent on making us wear impractical warrior-esque chunky armour. Is a "strong, silent" type really going to feel it appropriate to sneak in the undergrowth and shoot from afar with a giant murlock/horn/blazing things/huge eyes/etc on their head? While a warrior needs large, chunky and defining armour, hunters (I imagine) would generally prefer ... well, a cross between a druid and rogue look. Why can't Blizz return to the roots of the game and incorporate using "hunted" materials with a more natural influence - feathers, leaves, natural colourations or themed sets (tiers 2.5 and 3 were good examples of this, despite their flashy colours, at least they were *based* on something).
This works for PVP too - or even moreso - where one would think a hunter would wish to blend in with his/her surroundings and attack using surprise and strategy - not run around with HUGE horns etc on their head and headbutt enemies. Or maybe that's just me. I was never good at PVP.

War: "What are YOU looking at?"Anyone else also notice....WE CANT SEE OUT OF OUR HELM....
Hunter: "I dont know! I cant find the eye-holes!" D:
Hope we have some kind of Raydar and targeting system stashed away in that thing.

That Paladin set is absolutely gorgeous! Really beautiful, one of the nicest in the game, I must say. Perhaps I should start PvP:ing with my Pally...this is certainly temptation enough!

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
rogue looks best, but it would work better as a warlock look.
as for the rest, its all blah. but damn, hunters are super shafted again. none of our armor ever looks anyway, especially helms.

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
I agree. And perhaps this makes it difficult to design gear for hunters and rogues. One of the main features of the class is a don't notice me attitude, but the prevailing opinion is that gear sets are designed to be noticed.Comett wrote:the Hunter is by lore a class that is in-tune with nature which needs a flexible, natural gear set (why hunters wear mail is beyond me, but hey, technicalities); this natural inclination towards nature is why hunters, until recently, tended to belong to the more graceful/nomadic races (Nelf, Troll, Tauren etc). At least the hunter t13 looks somewhat decent. No murlocs please!
Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
-cringes- Ee-gad....what a absolutely horrible design for a Hunter PVP set. How are we supposed to see to actually shoot? It makes absolutely no sense. That design is just so horrible.
Looks like the Paladin, Rogue, and Shamans got the most "love" for their design. As usual.

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
Anyone else notice that our pvp set just looks like a duller version of the warrior set? Just our horns on the chest are downwards and the horns on our shoulders is a bit different. It looks more leather to... kinda the same theme going but they are the bull and I think we are the cow... thinking ofi t that way is kinda depressing.. Im not a tauren mmk!
If you look at the other sets it most of them look amazing, the female sets are amazing especially the warlock set.. the female warrior set the head piece looks... off..
but I am pretty positive.. I will be using transmog for this set.

Oh, uhhh... Bleh. I can safely say this is the first time in a while I don't at all like the new PvP hunter set. Just... boring. Too plain. Especially if you compare it to the others. Several of those really look very bland.
NEW SIGNATURE PENDING... SOON.

Just transmog it if you're not a fan.
Would also like to point out that the current hunter PvP sets look fantastic, so short of this one also having an eyepatch (I'm kidding), it wasn't going to live up to the others.

Re: the hunter s11 gear is lolworthy
Apparently the whole "blindness" thing was just due to missing particle effects. Seems like there's a better quality version now!
Still doesn't change the fact that it looks bad. :C
Also, I take back my statement on Hunters getting a "Loyal Order of Water Buffalo" hat...
