Blood Elf Heritage armour set

Unread post by Sukurachi »

Well, I just did the quests for the B.Elf heritage armour, and have to admit that THIS is the type of thing that has been missing from WoW since they introduced Blood Elves.
Everyone got great backstories and their leaders were developed and used in tons of cutscenes and whatnot.
B.Elves? meh, screw them, they got a new race, let's just call it quits.

Well, the quests for the heritage armour really helped make up for all that disinterest on the part of the Blizz developers. The quests were emotional and great! And the armour is pretty snazzy too.

I agree, it was such a beautiful storyline. Blood elves are one of my favourite races, and getting content that was so immersive and personal meant a lot to me. I'd love to see more of this in the future.

The only other time we ever got a HINT of what the Blood Elves had gone through was from that historian in Pandaria who had us contact and honour our ancestors (they show up in a ghostly form, and then the historian comments something along the lines of "I see now why you are called 'Blood Elves" and something about sadness yet nobility... it would have been nice at the time to get more information)

Yeah, I get real tired of the "lol gay" or "haha the men look like women get it" tropes that Blizzard loves to pull with them, while hardly giving them anything else, when their race has such a deep and tragic history. As a roleplayer I've pored over their history and have most of it ingrained in my head, but there's not much reference to it in-game outside of their own starting zones, for more casual players to pick up on. I'd both love for Lor'themar to get more of an active role in the game, but also dread it, because as soon as a character is put into the spotlight they're written awfully. :p I really appreciated his role during MoP and the Isle of Thunder though, was nice to get a bit of blood elf focus in that expansion.

I just hope when the Tauren set rolls around next patch, it'll be just as good.

Siggy under construction!

I did this yesterday too and really enjoyed it. I love my belf paladin! Now all he needs is a proper racial paladin mount and I'll be set. I've always liked their leader too and felt he needed more "air time" but Thunder Isle was really good I agree.

Has anyone else noticed that the chest piece appears to sit over the tabard?

Sargman (Void Elf) Terokkar
Serkrun (Orc) Dentarg
Untamabull (Tauren) Area 52
Sargmar (Blood Elf) Alexstrasza

If you're taking my posts 100% seriously, you're probably 150% too serious to read them.

That's because it's actually a model as opposed to a texture. The tabard replaces the chestpiece texture but doesn't turn off models over it.
