A lot of people on the forums bitched, a lot of people in trade chat bitched. I wasnt talking about people here. The people here seem ecstatic.Cerele wrote:who raged? alot were happy from what i saw

Nice pic
And at least on my servers, pretty much every time I've had to stop by a city in the past few weeks, there's been a panda debate in progress on /trade
Ofc there's virtually always a stupid conversation on /trade, it just happens to be focused on pandas atm.

Re: Lulzy image for people raging about Pandas
The funniest thing to me are counterarguments people have to "there are already plenty of furries in WoW".
1) Tauren are based on minotaurs, a classical mythology creature, thus they fit!
First, WoW is not "classical mythology" game. Second, all Tauren have in common with the Minotaur is a bull-head - they're not ravenous bull-headed men. Third, the classical mythology creature you're talking about was the Minotaur. Not minotaurs, the Minotaur. As in, one dude. The minotaurs as a race were invented by modern fantasy writers, maybe even Narnia was the first with them in that way. Fourth, since when is innovation bad?
2) None of those races had a whole expansion based on them!
Because none of those have cultures specific and different enough to base whole expansions around them. The closest candidate for originality and uniqueness (after Pandaren) are trolls with their "Mayincatec" architecture - but we get troll dungeons every expansion, and people are already sick of them being everywhere. So now we get Orient, which wasn't yet present in the game.
3) Wolf-men are good, because wolves are ferocious. Bulls can be ferocious too. But pandas are fluffy teddy bears!
Now people who post this argument are just frankly stupid. They're friggin' BEARS. And one of the biggest ones known. If you get to close to a wild panda, it can tear your friggin' head off - not because it wanted to eat you - but because you annoyed them with your smelly human presence. Don't get yourself brain-washed by pop-culture.
So yeah, the picture is still in full strength, and I am yet to see a good argument of why panda-people don't fit among all of those.

If they whine just to whine, they will continue doing it, image or not - so addressing them is rather pointless. I'm trying to address people who at least TRY to think.Jessibelle wrote:Well yeah but the image is more directed at people who know nothing about pandarens and are just bitching for the sake of bitching cause they always do.

Re: Lulzy image for people raging about Pandas
Yes. If being an herbivore doesn't make tauren passive and submissive, why would it make pandas that way. So sick of players with limited imagination pooh-poohing any and every interesting idea until game developers flesh it out enough that they can see it walk and talk... and THEN they love it and pretend they always have.Andine wrote:If you get to close to a wild panda, it can tear your friggin' head off - not because it wanted to eat you - but because you annoyed them with your smelly human presence. I've always thought pandaren would make a cool race since WC3.
Plus pandas weren't always herbivores, fwiw.

Sadly...wow forums is not that kind of place where people think(typically).Andine wrote:If they whine just to whine, they will continue doing it, image or not - so addressing them is rather pointless. Re: Lulzy image for people raging about Pandas
It's hilarious watching people scramble to tear into the pandas and the setting of Pandaria.
So we're shooting into outer space to explore a planet full of aliens and crystals and mushrooms? That sounds totally lame! And we can roll paladin alien demon people? WTF Blizz, lore breaking! Why would my tauren be interested in going to another planet to help out some poncy elves? This expansion will suck! I'm quitting!

That pic is total Win.
Never mind the idiots on the official forums/trade chat (especially not Trade -- it's Barrens Chat 2.0).

This made me smile, I agree that people shouldn't complain before at least trying it and if they hate the expansion just for the panda part they don't have to roll one
