Here's my updated stable. If by some miracle Yaks and Mushan are tameable then I'll likely replace two pets from the bottom row. And I'll have to see what the spirit beasts are like in 5.1 but for now it looks like this will be my stable early on in MoP.

Edit: I seem to have forgotten my Humar. And seeing my stables like that makes me think that apparently I like cats.
I think you like Spirit Beasts..... :)
You would assume correctly, got the last one ankha two days ago, so MoP can just go ahead and come already :p

I've been a long time reader of the forums, but never joined until recently. However I love the stable grid idea so much that I finally had to break my silence.

I can't decide what I like more; seeing the pets people have tamed, or seeing the names that people have given their pets. (I love finding just the right name for each pet - and get great enjoyment out of the stories behind some of the names I give my pets, even if others don't get them) :D I also love seeing the pet "themes" that people have (colours, names, etc) I've never been able to stick by a theme myself, but I really like seeing what others do.

With that said, here is my current stable going into MoP. I did a small stable clear out a little while ago, but I may need to release a few more depending on any new spirit beasts and if I make up my mind about Quilen. Like many others I have a rare/unique skin obsession, which explains most of my pet choices (with some exceptions - Dorian barks!!)

My favourites are first with the ones I am least likely to keep last. I then have a space reserved for a goat (GOATS!) and I am probably going to pick up a serpent or a hyena for their buff.

Me too! I'm a big name nerd and I try really hard to pick the right name for each of my pets. If the name is off the bond is off too. I love seeing what everyone else names their pets and the back story behind it. Oh and welcome to the posting side of the forum. :)

ETA: Gah!! I forgot about the attack speed buff. That one will be pretty important so I'll have to replace a pet with a serpent or hyena. Sigh, decisions are never over!

I don't really use many pets. I collected all the rares/spirit beasts but just let them all go. I plan to use more pets on MoP though mainly because Stampede. lol

I was hoping for Hydras or the normal-snakes to be made tameable, but I suppose I can wait longer still! hehe.

Heres my updated one.
I haven't decided on a name for my strider yet and I tossed the hydra in just in case :D. Sweet Tooth sticks out from the rest pretty badly haha.

OK unless we get thrown any curveballs this is my stable going into MoP. I made a post about it on my blog so hopefully it's final, lol.

Question, why does my grid always come out fubar? The pictures when copied into directly or cut from a screenie and pasted into the grid always come out with wonky colors and pixelation despite it showing fine on my screen if i screenshot/paste that into paint and cut from there.

What gives? I want to do this but I don't like how warped the pictures get.

What format are you saving the final image as, or can you post an example of how the images look warped? JPEG will reduce the quality drastically and put little artifacts everywhere (making images look blurry or pixelated). I usually like to save things as PNG files.

Hmm, I know tinypic usually converts uploaded pictures to a JPEG. For the colours in that though...did you initially save it as a GIF? In most cases gifs will alter the colours of an image by reducing the amount that are shown, leading to weird pixellated blobs of colour like you see in yours. I'm not sure why the images aren't lined up in the boxes though, unless you just didn't line them up perfectly before you saved. I'd recommend saving as a PNG instead of a GIF, and possibly trying a different file hosting site.

Well, that's what the link was to save the grid you had in a thread. It was a gif so I didn't think that'd be an issue...I'll have to try fiddling more. And no I didn't line them up because I was lazy. :P

I uploaded the grid as a GIF just so it had a small file size. See, the grid itself is fine as a GIF because there are only two colours in it - black and white. When you add in the pet images themselves they're composed of many different shades and details. A GIF is limited to using only 256 colours - so when you save an image that used more shades, it simplifies them by converting them all within its own colour range, hence giving you the blobs because it had to change the pixels to fit within its limitations. :) PNG is what you'd want for a lossless format, though it's also the largest size.

Well I tried to save it again, I only had .gif as a format option(which is weird) so I just printscreened it and cut/pasted it out into its own thing.

Works fine now.

Welp after much perusing and double taking and deciding here is a rough list.

Image

Pink heart = here to stay
Orange ? = Not sure/undecided
Lavendar heart with black x = no love lost, high chance to abandon
Green swirl = mop additions
No mark = like, feel no need to drop
And one empty space. C:

I have such a hard time planning a stable. I never know which pets will click. I like all sorts of skins, but not sure about chemistry, and I cant test that on beta (weird peeve I have). Clearly I need 108 stable slots.

Oh... Uhm. I already posted the exact stable in the 25 pet thread, but maybe I should have posted it here? They're both active threads, so I don't know. Dx Pretty much, right now, I only have my eyes on Savage.
