I agree that the face looks... wrong... It almost looks human in some of these screenshots. It's freaky. The model itself is nicely modelled and textured but it looks... weird. Since I never bothered taming one on beta, I wonder if they'll become my camels of MoP... (I hated the camels in Cataclysm because their walk/run animation was the most inaccurate thing I've ever seen.)Swampfox wrote:I suppose I am in the minority here but I actually don't like this model at all. I love goats (in real life), and I love the old ram models in game, but these goats look TERRIBLE. They look so... derpy. Their models don't look at all impressive to me - sure, they have more polygons, but everything else about them looks wrong. What bothers me most is that their eyes are in the front of their heads, like dogs. Grazing animals are prey animals and as such have eyes on the sides of their heads to be able to see a much wider radius. I know that this is a game but to me it is a pretty important detail. These models have no substance to me... All icing and no cake. Still hoping for rams.

I'd say some goats IRL can look pretty derpy...Swampfox wrote:I suppose I am in the minority here but I actually don't like this model at all. ''Hey man, I just herped my derp.''
Re: I've goat nothing...
Hahaha yes, goats CAN look derpy irl :p I guess what keeps me from looking past te eye issue is that the model is somehow too polished. It looks like sambas in goat form. There's not much shagginess or anything... Looks like someone brushed him 10 times a day and then coated him with hair gel. He looks almost plasticine. I think he would be better suited to reading the morning weather report than fighting any battles. In a lot of ways it seems now that wow has better graphics and can create smoother textures, they have a habit of polishing things to the point of cheesiness.
I also thought I would mention that I am not trying to talk people out of liking goats, cause what is the point of that? I am glad people like them! And it is a huge step up in a graphical sense than, say, a hyena. Just sharing my opinions, feel free to disagree

Are there any tameable level 85 goats? I want to play with one but I don't want to do any leveling (saving that for live!). Crossing my fingers we can get talbuks in this family.

Unfortunately I think the lowest level goat is 88, but level 90 premades should be showing up soon I think.

Heh, I think the forward-eyes is what makes me love them so much, besides the overall fuzziness. They look very thoughtful and wise, almost human. Almost creepy but not, a great balance.

Goat should have increased damage against trolls, I mean that would just fit lorewise.

Could be possible that WoW goats are predatory animals, hence the eyes in front look.

There's plenty of animals that have forward looking eyes that don't eat meat. Personally, I think they're secretly chameleons, and they can rotate and turn there eyes in any direction.Sandpanther wrote:Could be possible that WoW goats are predatory animals, hence the eyes in front look.
