I like having options, period. I would like it for that reason alone. However if putting it back in somehow took away resources and time from other features, then nah, I don't want it that bad.

It had its uses for me, but nothing I miss so hard it aches (unlike Eyes of the Beast which I miss so much it hurts).

Agreed that having the option would be nice. I don't exactly find myself missing it, as I can't think of many situations where I used it, but every now and then it could be handy, so I wish it hadn't gone away entirely.

I can live without it easily, but I do wish we still had the option.

I like it for when I was working on my gathering professions as I leveled, pull out a tank pet, set it on aggressive and then get to work gathering while the pet goes and bites off the face of anything that might wander to close. Nothing is more annoying then working on maxing out your herbology or mining and having a low level mob come up and start smacking on you (doing like 1 hp damage) while you are trying to clear a node. Nothing is more infuriating then turning to kill that mob and find someone else clearing the node you were working on.

So yeah, it had its uses, but nothing that I have to have back in game. It wasn't a vital skill, just a handy one.

No. I rarely, if ever, used it, so I don't miss it. I prefer my smarter Defensive (aka Assist). I actually rarely use Defensive itself anymore, unless I'm on a fight where I don't want the pet attacking my target--this is pretty much limited to Warmaster Blackhorn and his drakes, which I can reach but my pet's Kill Command can't. He/she gets to help out on the ship adds and Blackhorn instead.

You know, I thought I would miss it for PvP, but I don't. I'm a more attentive hunter without it.

I still liked it for pvp, right now im undecided if I will even pvp in Mop unless some things are worked out. Rogues tick me off enough right now in pvp, but haveing to deal with the same thing and then the added bonus of all your shot being dodged make me just want to run from pvp
Remember the days when hunters were anti rogue? yah.. those were the days..

I found it to be pretty useful in pvp, but I'm making out alright without it.

YES! I want it back, Aggressive Defensive Passive, they worked, half the time Assist doesn't work and my pet does stupid things like run all the way back to me with mobs hitting it before it turns around and engages. Or I tell it go hit a new target and halfway there it decides to go back to the original target, I never had these problems with the old stances.

Aggressive Stance was so helpful in PvP. Set it, and any stealthers had to worry about getting their face eaten off, along with sneaky people trying to sidle along walls and hide above or below you.

Which is probably one of the main reasons it was removed, the usual whiny PvPers made Blizzard screw us over in all aspects of the game.

Altho I've learned to deal without it, I do miss it. There's been several times, including outside of pvp, where I go "Damn, wish I had aggressive again to help deal with all these lil mobs" or something to that affect. Also helped when tagging something first that spawned since the pets usually agroed faster than someone could target.

The only time I ever had this issue was with the old Defensive. Assist has been working like a charm! You just gotta understand how Assist works, is all--if already attacking a mob, it requires a few seconds of damage on the new mob so that it knows you're sure about switching targets. It also helps to have tagged the mob with single-target, which was a flaw of the old Defensive as well. All in all, it works like old Defensive but with quality-of-life tweaks that make me very reluctant to give it up, ever. The old setup didn't work as well as it might seem through the rosy lenses of nostalgia.

I remember using it when a guildie's alt was doing the Nat Pagle fishing quest at 35 and wanted an escort through Swamp of Sorrows (and also got distracted picking flowers). I ended up having to go afk for a bit, but I just put myself on follow and my pet on aggressive, and he was still protected :)

It was fun to use in a few particular ways, and I wouldn't say no if they brought it back, but I can understand why they discontinued it.

I really miss having my aggro stance for my pet. I just enjoyed it more when I was questing/farming/PvPing.

You mean, the way Assist works now but without smart target switching? xP Seriously, that's pretty much the only difference between Assist and old Defensive.

With the old Defensive I didn't have to wait (waiting can kill you btw) I told them who to hit and they did it. No waiting. And if something started hitting them while they were on another target and it died they didn't run all the way back to me then engage the attacker, no they turned around and mauled them, the way it should be.

See, this sort of thing sounds like a new stance to me - some sort of all-encompassing stance that puts a pet on both assist and defensive (guardian? battle?), with the others still being available for fine-tuning.

Uh...you can still tell them to switch targets manually (just like old times!) when you don't want to wait. They wouldn't switch targets at all until told to, was the only difference back then. And, yes, they'd run back to you and then turn around to run to a mob...I remember that quite well. I remember hoping Assist would fix it. :P
