The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
I'm sure that a lot of people have already talked about this, but on the PTR, I just made sure to test it.
If you tame The Black Stalker, rather than killing it, people do not get the achievement for killing it. Likewise, you cannot complete The Black Stalker quest (as you need the brain and you can't loot a pet), and the loot is lost. Finally, since you don't get achievement credit, you likely will not get random dungeon credit.
All in all, if you are a hunter, and you happen to get Underbog? No matter how much you want that Black Stalker pet, *do not tame it*. Get someone to boost you, or wait until you're high enough level.
This has been a message from the 'Stomp Out The Phrase Huntard By Not Being Them' committee.

People actually do that? Haha! I've asked about taming mobs, but never a boss.

Wait. The Black Stalker is tameable now? I thought it was still just the look-alikes in that raid.

Well, taming a boss is sortof rare so it can't happen often. They're just saying please don't be a jerk whether people do do it or not.

Not sure this is going to be a problem unless you que for it specifically with the intention of taming him at level 69 (you stop getting it for a random que at lvl 65-66). At 70 that place is soloable and can no longer be qued for (heroic I think you still can but I'm not sure). So yeah unless people are being jerks about it they can wait till 69 or 70 and just solo it on reg.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
The Black Stalker was flagged many builds ago on the beta. This is the first final boss of an instance that can be tamed; all other tameable bosses were optional.
As Rawr said, due to the level requirement on exotic beasts, this would have to be done intentionally. So hopefully hunters won't bother attempting to grief others. There are always jerks out there, but this is one of those cases where it would take far more effort to grief than not, so hopefully they'll lose interest.

Also, I'm sure the rest of the group could easily interfere by damaging it and not letting you complete the tame if you tried it. I suppose you could always run ahead and attempt it, but I have a feeling most of the tames will be done at higher levels or with a friend's help to clear it.

This actually reminds me of something I saw on WHH: http://www.wowhuntershall.com/2012/08/1 ... -at-level/ If all the classic dungeons can be soloed by a hunter at level, I have no doubt that the same would also be true of BC dungeons. Plus....I happen to know that feigning through Underbog is completely doable, since really only the second boss needs to be killed before reaching the end. The others can be skipped.

That would be kinda dickish of someone to do that. AS said above they should just wait till they are higher.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
It's a similar concept to being polite about Chromaggus, except Chromaggus isn't an end boss and thus won't prevent an achievement.
Even so, anyone who comes with you on a BWL run where Chromaggus is tamed loses any chance at T2 shoulders that week.

Wow those are quite the accomplishments. I mean Ragefire Casim and maybe Stockades would be easy, but some of those other ones at level? Nuts I tell youKalliope wrote:This actually reminds me of something I saw on WHH: http://www.wowhuntershall.com/2012/08/1 ... -at-level/ If all the classic dungeons can be soloed by a hunter at level, I have no doubt that the same would also be true of BC dungeons. I never thought that Black Stalker would be tameable, thats pretty nifty news to me since his skin is sweet.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
I see no problem with it. Like Rawr said, you can't tame it before level 69 anyway, and at that level you can solo the regular version of the place. A hunter would really have to go out of his/her way to try and tame it in a group, unless said hunter is actually a huntard, but that's a different story. :p

I'm so out of the loop I'm not aware there is a loop. *blink* Anyway, this is exciting since I've always felt terrible for the poor thing and wanted to tame my little friend not kill her *weeps for poor Fern* Anyway, enough derailing into news that was new a long time ago apparently. Agreed on the be cool about not taking her out from under a group.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
The first thing I plan to do when 5.0.4 hits is tame her!
Don't worry, I'm 85 of course, but I can still see why a dungeon-level person might try to tame it.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
I don't see why this is an issue.
What's far more likely to happen is not a hunter taming and blocking the rest of the group from finishing the dungeon, but some hunter going emo because the group wouldn't let him tame. But no hunter is going to be able to hold aggro against a group that's trying to kill the boss, so it's not really an issue.
Go solo it at 80, and tame away...

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
As Slick pointed out, it is at least very hard for a hunter at level to maintain aggro against the group's tank while they're taming. The main issue would be if the hunter convinced the group to let them tame the beast and only then the group finds out they won't get dungeon credit.
If it's heroic, I wonder what would happen if you exited the dungeon and reset. Would the boss come back, since it wasn't actually defeated? Or is it gone for good? Hmmm.

Gone for good, as far as I know. That's the way Chromie works.

What Slickrock said. Taming counts as killing for him, and opens the door to Nefarian.

Re: The Black Stalker: PLEASE BE POLITE!
I honestly don't think even distracting shot to tame would be fast enough in some cases - if the rest of the group pops all their cds and such, the Black Stalker will be dead anyway.
