Pet battles available yet?

I've been lax on my visits to beta lately, but with the misc talk of companion pets, I was wondering if they've put pet battles and such back in

Quite possibly in this upcoming patch (this weekend). Cory Stockton just tweeted:

@CM_Zarhym I sense big things in this "Possibly maybe" patch for tomorrow. Well, maybe I should say small things.

(I'm an obsessive pet collector. I have 202, after all. But pet battles and the hundreds of new pets seem more like overkill for me on what has been a very simple, fun hobby. Like saying "you like sugar in your coffee? Well here, let me put 50 spoonfuls in". But that's just me. Bah humbug, etc.

For some reason I'm really nervous about pet battles. I have NO idea why, maybe it's just excitement and anticipation? xD

Maybe they'll make one of the new pets a humbug for you

...after all, don't think they've added the brown silithid "Boring Beetle" skin yet!

And give it an annoying hum. Something to rival the tiny pandaren monk for sheer irritation value

Pet battles are up on the beta! ^^

Just whatever you do, don't use the Prairie Dog ability Burrow - seems it causes your battle to freeze and even after quitting the fight, you won't be able to move or do anything other than turn around.

Just to add so people don't get too excited, it's broken once again. :P Whenever you try to start a pet battle, all the pets involved just die. :(

So far they seem to be working again, found a rare prairie Dog and of course Named him P Dawg

working on hunting rares/leveling a bit. Found about 5-6 rares so far. Probably not near the number some other people have, and my highest pet is only lv12.
