Friendly-flagged Battle Pets

Unread post by Kurasu »

So, to be quick: Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchlings are flagged as 'friendly' to Alliance... but they are capturable battle pets. Can Alliance enter into trainer battles with these darlings? Or are they Horde-only?

if they *are* Horde-only, where is the Alliance's windrider hatchling? ;)

Even if it is "Horde-olny" as long as one of your characters has it all of them do.

That is a good point! :D Although dammit, I still don't think it's fair to have a 'Horde-only' pet, and no 'Alliance-only' one(s). I DEMAND EQUALITY! ... I'm sure there's a Horde-only one out there *somewhere*, but I haven't found it yet.

... and still would like to know, from someone who can engage pets (I can't on the PTR), if they *can* be engaged by an Alliance. I'd rather not have to level my Horde just for one single pet, but these are... 'adorable' isn't even the word. ;)

Funny they make a battle pet that has identical skin to a Battlenet Store pet. I would think that there should be a wild wyvern cub too if that is the case. I will need both wild ones for collections sake, although I'll probably use the Pet store ones for fighting since they are apparently going to be rare quality. And yeah, both the gryphon and the wyvern are just sooo cute! *snuggles the plushes*

They don't have the medallion around their neck, do they? That's the only thing that keeps me from buying the windrider... I don't like it!
If only they put in a wild windrider cub... make it fair for Alliance AND Horde!

Time to level my long-forgotten lvl20 moocat then... :D

I don't care if it's horde-only or not, or if there's a windrider to go with it. I want my tiny gryphon chick!
(I love gryphons. With a collection of 120 mounts I still ride a noob-gryphon 75% of the time. My guildies has found it somewhat disturbing :P)

I had a friend on the beta test this out for me.

If you are Alliance, you *can* battle friendly battle pets.

Incidentally, they're level 23.... her poor, poor level 7 Grunty...

Seems they do have the Alliance symbol, at least in the "View 3D" it was identical to the Store version:

If it is an issue, I got a rare one that came in a pack when I hit up a marmot. Yes they do have medallions around their neck just like the pet store. (Just confirming the last part)

Yaone's right. The wildhammer babies can pop up in random battles as extras, and not terribly uncommonly. We mgiht not be able to click on them allyside but we can still get'm.

I (ally) went there yesterday, there were 3 chicks by the flightmaster, and one of them was flaged as a battlepet. I could battle that one just fine. Unfortunatelly, it was lvl23, and my highest was lvl9, so... yeah :P
I ran away, and it despawned. I've waited some time, and after 20-30min it repawned, but as a regular critter. Neither of my critter-munching pets was apparently willing to make it have to respawn again, so I had to call it a day.
Today I went there again, and again there was one chick flaged for battle. This time though I just hanged around with it for a while and let it be :)
