I could only see the dead part working if they were stationary, or you'd have no way of finding them after you rezzed.

Fun fact: this conversation reminds me that I've seen Portent's tracks while dead multiple times!

excellent vid as always!

I am glad they restricted his area, this new way of tracking isnt so much tracking as it is pure guessing. Had i not seen one of the "tracks" spawn, no telling how long I would have been out there randomly flaring. still fun!

Quick update, as I remembered to confirm with my own silkworm: Bombyx does in fact have his own unique sounds! His voice is deeper than the average silkworm's.

Yes, I was relieved to see how small his pathing area is after reading about all his tricks.

Also: tiny feet.
I see what you did there, Kalli.

Its great that Blizzard has fixed most rares foot prints from facing backwards, but the issue now is they choice in color and were they appear. I spent an hour hunting Savage and tracking him was a pain only cause I would follow his tracks for a little then all the sudden I could not find any then travel down his path for a couple mins and I would find them again, it is like he jumped from one location to the other. Also his feet blend into the area so well I was seeing plants and thinking it was tracks only to be thrown off again. I hope Blizzard will knock down the difficulty by making the tracks of rares stand out from thier area and not spawn in a hill or under the ground.

From what we're seeing in 5.1, they've decided the difficulty needs to be harder, not easier.

*nods* Some tracks are easier to follow than others. There are already varying levels of difficulty between the ten. It's part of the challenge/fun!

We've seen nothing regarding one thus far. If there was any news on that front, it would be in the first post of this thread.

Based on the zones missing new rares in Caelan's thread, we've still got some builds to go, so who knows what might happen! Or not, as the case may be.

Yep. We still have at least one (probably big) build to go. After all, Vol'jins new model and the Kirin mount model have yet to gain a texture. This is a fair indication that we're not done yet. Fingers crossed, people!

What indicates what direction the worm is going? Looks like a average bouquet of flowers on the ground

That's the problem...you get no clue. It just tells you he was there.

Exactly. ;) There's no clearly indicated direction. You either have to flare wildly around the tracks or hope you see one drop right in front of you... and sometimes, even that doesn't help you.

And this is why Bombyx is the hardest trackable pet to date! ;)
