D: Well, PTR is early and still testing stages, hopefully they'll revert to normal by the end..

o_o Big sprite dragons. Wooooooah. Maybe they'll change them to mini size? I like the old model too. Love them both. But wow they're big dragons now.
Maybe they can keep the old model as Sprite Darter Hatchling and have the newer one as a wild battle pet? The new model could have a name like Monarch Darter or some other related butterfly name. c:

Re: faerie dragon mount?
So I think what the current findings tell us is we don't know anything yet about mount or pet sizing or which minipet(s) may change. This is almost certainly a mistake (or deliberate purely for temporary testing) as it is now.

Inb4 it turns out to be a TCG or blizzard store mount. (They always gotta nickel and dime us!)

Re: faerie dragon mount?
It's way too early to say, but I wonder if this could be Blizzard's way of granting people a "dragon pet" that hunters have been pining over for as long as the game has existed. Though, honestly I think at least the size of the pet is a slip-up if not the whole model.
On the subject of models; I am completely in love with this new model now that I saw it in game without any armour junk on. ^^

One would hope if they were already able to be tamed, then we could tame the new model also, but I'm not sure a upgraded model to an already untameable NPC warrants them becoming tameable now. (Not that I don’t think it would be neat if we could, just sadly don't see it happening.)Yoruko wrote:It's way too early to say, but I wonder if this could be Blizzard's way of granting people a "dragon pet" that hunters have been pining over for as long as the game has existed. Re: faerie dragon mount?
Ah, I didn't quite it mean it like that. I doubt they would be tameable by hunters at all since they're dragonkin. What I meant was that every player and their dog have been asking for dragons as a pet (not just whelps) and instead of making them a hunter pet, this would be a sort of "meet you at the half-way" compromise. A pet-battle dragon that comes in a hunter-pet size.Spiritbinder wrote:One would hope if they were already able to be tamed, then we could tame the new model also, but I'm not sure a upgraded model to an already untameable NPC warrants them becoming tameable now. Edit: But I would like to emphasize that I was merely speculating the above case IF this was intentional, which I find highly doubtful.

Re: faerie dragon mount?
I'm sure the model change is a bug. It's got to be. The old sprite darters are way too cute to get rid of for no reason.

Re: faerie dragon mount?
Me neither Mia, but I was talking about the more generalized population of the player base, rather than the tiny portion of us here on Petopia. At least I keep running into people in game who say something of the sort to "I just want to tame dragons already!"Miacoda wrote:Me and my dog respectfully do not wish to tame dragons on hunters.

Re: faerie dragon mount?
So apparently, after looking around in my pet journal, the model itself is going to replace the current one, or at least on the Hatchling. Seeing as I love the model, I honestly can't wait to see what the spectral one looks like.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and now I really regret selling my Hatchling on live.

Re: faerie dragon mount?
I've always loved the stripes and spiderweb-ish pattern on their wings, so I like this mount a lot. I prefer the cutesy chameleon appearance of the original models, but this one's still pretty neat. I like it without armor best, I'm not too keen on how every mount needs armor hiding the new models, but at least this armor isn't too outrageous.

No offense but I'm not sure how that would make sense. Especially since I dont attribute sha and faerie dragons like at all. I personally think a sha touched pandaria phoenix would be great for the sha of pride since they resemble peacocks and those birds are certainly prideful.Poearia wrote:Calling it now....The Sha of Pride will drop this mount ^.^
