How to tell if you have 200 mounts for achievement?

Unread post by Quiv »

OK so simple question.

Now that mounts are account bound, I am curious how we are supposed to tell when we have 200 mounts (or, more importantly, how close we are so we can plan accordingly).

I looked at my 11 characters on my main realm, both in game and armory, and I am getting numbers all over the place.

Horde:
Hunter 1: in game: 193. armory: 192.
Hunter 2: in game: 193. armory: 192.
Paladin: in game: 195. armory: 194.
DK: in game: 195. armory: 193.
Druid: in game: 193. armory: 192.
Priest: in game: 193. armory: 192.
Mage: in game: 193. armory:
Warrior: in game: 193. armory: 192.
Monk: in game: 193. armory: 192.

Alliance:
Hunter 3: in game: 152. armory: 151.
Shaman: in game: 152. armory 151.

My DK and paladin have both class mounts. Most horde players have 193 in game. So does that mean 193 + 4 class mounts = 197? Is that the true number I am at?

I am also not sure how Alliance to Horde mounts work toward counting this number. Do the horde wolves and alliances steeds cancel each other out?

I am trying to plan out how many I need to get so I can get the achievement, but at this point, I am lost.

I do know that the horde mounts that are the alliance equivalent cancel each other out (same thing the other way around). Besides that I'm not sure.

I'm guessing you need to get five more that your Hordies can use, then sign on to either your DK or pally.

That would assume class mounts cancel each other out I guess. 2 lock mounts = 2 paladin mounts (regardless of race) = 2 DK mounts.

I might be wrong about this, but I think it doesn't total up everything. A single char needs to have 200. I hope I'm wrong, but that seems to be the way it worked for me for the 150 mounts thing.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but weren't class mounts ignored for previous levels of this achievement? I thought they didn't count. I'm probably wrong.

Your alliance toons shouldnt be that different in number, do you have 2 accounts by chance?

I've found that changing one toon to the other account I loose my store bought mounts. I have to make a dk every time i switch between the accounts to get them back (im soooo over those 4 quests to get to the mailbox lol!). All because I'm anal about all my toons being on that one screen lol!

I don't think they were. I remember logging onto my Paladin to make gems and got the 150 achievement. (Course there was that bug where you didn't get achievements unless you relogged or toon hopped... Might have just been that)

No no, not at all, it's just that your posting name and toons name are the same, so was easy to check.

It's not the size of your collection that counts, but how well you ride!

Mount numbers will differ due to class, profession and faction exclusive mounts that don't transfer between characters. The game counts a mount if that particular character can use it, so if your tailoring, engineering paladin will have several mounts that your herbalist, enchanting warrior can't use. Thus the difference between characters.

But the X amount of mounts will look at the char with the most amount of usable mounts for the ach, so once one hits 200, you'll get the reward mount on all characters.

Eggsaladin has the most at 195 mounts
Quivering wrote:I guess I should have made my paladin or DK a Tailor/Engineer oO

Personally I think with all being equal, they should make class mounts NOT count in the achievements, or if they must, have them count for ALL toons associated with your account. Any profession mounts can be dropped or obtained by any toon, so as much as it may be annoying to have tailor/engineer, it's still doable... but I can’t re-roll my hunter into a Pally/DK/Warlock to gain 2 more free mounts. That... I feel is unequal in a world they are supposedly trying to make "fair"

I'm guessing 202 in inclusive of any horde and alliance mounts? It's kind of annoying, but the armoury counts both horde and alliance mounts as a separate number, even though one converts into the other if you transferred.

the 170 is the maximum you have available to any toon at any time, and Castile has the most available to her at 170. That’s what the achievement counts sadly, not the amount your account has, but the amount available to any 1 of your toon at one time.

Oh yeah I get the armoury thing, i have 265ish on there but in game i can use 202 (on that toon anyway). I know cause I lost 4 and was at 198 in game until i made another death knight to get my 4 store mounts back :/

I'd take a screenie but I'm at work haha! but yeah I get what you mean about faction things. Are you working it out by armoury or something?

edit: Should add faction changing etc enabled me to have access to the alliance version of horde mounts I bought eg. Chopper, Mammoth etc if you aren't counting those.
