5.4 Bestiary

Unread post by Wain »

I guess it's time to start compiling a list of 5.4 beasts, tameable or not. Please post if you have any additions or corrections. Thanks :)

Birds of Prey

Notes: Kiting a live Fishgorged Crane over to the bloody Fishgorged Crane corpse will cause this rare to spawn.

Image Name: Primal Stalker
ID: 72805
Appearance: siberiantigerfrost
Level: 91
Classification: Elite
Location: Timeless Isle
Tameable: NO. Flagged tameable but too high level.

Appearance: NEW. Spiky crab, with red crab skin over biolucent-blue.
Level: 91
Classification: Rare Elite
Location: Timeless Isle
Tameable: NO. Flagged tameable but too high level

Cranes

Appearance: cranebrown
Level: 90
Classification: Normal
Location: Timeless Isle
Tameable: Yes.
Notes: There's a second Fishgorged Crane ID, but it's only used for a corpse: Fishgorged Crane. Kiting a live Fishgorged over to the corpse version will cause a rare tiger, Cranegnasher, to spawn.

Image Name: Windfeather Chick
ID: 71143

Level: 90
Classification: Normal
Location: Timeless Isle
Tameable: Yes.

Image Name: Windfeather Nestkeeper

Goats

Image Name: Black Bengal Goat
ID: 72275
Appearance: goatblackspots
Level: 90
Classification: Normal
Location: Vale of Eternal Blossoms
Tameable: Yes.
Notes: Vocal when clicked. This is a new ID for the Black Bengal Goat and is for the ones that have a sha effect. The old ones (already in Petopia) still remain in parts of the Vale and don't have the effect. The effect is lost upon taming. There are other tameable beasts in the Vale that now have a sha effect, but they all seem to retain their old IDs, as far as I can tell. The goat is the only one that was split.

Quilen

Image Name: Reanimated Quilen
ID: 60373
Appearance: quilin_stonegray
Level: 90
Classification: Normal
Location: The Silent Sanctuary, Vale of Eternal Blossoms
Tameable: Yes.
Notes: These quilen were misclassified as humanoids but this has now been fixed. Before 5.4 they used to only spawn during one quest phase, but now seem to appear all the time.

ID: 71982
Appearance: direwolfskindarkblack
Level: 91
Classification: Elite

Image Name: Moonfang Packmate
ID: 72038

Beasts in Wowhead's database but not reported here (that I've seen). Please post if you see them (or others!):
Speedy: a regular brown-green dragon turtle - I'm now pretty sure that this guy is the pet of an NPC hunter in the Proving Grounds. I believe it's a friendly NPC and part of the healer challenge.
Saltbite Crocolisk: blue Cata crocolisk

Flagged as Tameable.

Update: Flagged as tameable, but still 91.

Name: Monstrous Spineclaw
ID: 73166
I found this mob in an earlier PTR build before Timeless Isle was live. Now that Timeless Isle is open, I have yet to see this rare.
Image Name: Chelon
ID: ?????
Chelon is not flagged as tameable, oddly.
Image Name: Elder Great Turtle
ID: 72765
Tameable, but too high level (92).
Image Name: Great Turtle
ID: 72764
Tameable.
Image Name: Great Turtle Hatchling
ID: 72763
Tameable.
Image Name: Gu'chi the Swarmbringer
ID: 72909
Not flagged, but then again, who could hope to tame such a boss?
Image Name: Spotted Swarmer
ID: 72908
Also not flagged as tameable.
Speedy: a regular brown-green dragon turtle
Whatttt never seen this guy?
Crag Stalker: a red Pandaren tiger
These are common around the tiger area, and tameable.

Also frogs, while not tameable, will eat your face.

I appreciate it. Your notes on the Timeless Isle have been very helpful :) I don't suppose you've ever seen anything appear in that underwater cave just off the coast from the frogs?

*big heavy sigh*
i hunted that pink crane for some time before i got mine ( still a world 2nd tame* and then got good enough to hunt it quickly for guildies and friends.
why cant they leave that skin unique instead of blasting it everywhere like they did with the clutch mother and Mazzaranche's skins?
really dislike blizz for doing that regardless of the whine of making it easier for another to get the skin.
dang it all to bloody H e double hockey sicks, if someone wants a particular pet with a particular look .... freaking work for it !!
not being a snowflake, just dislike things are handed to the whiners and ones who dont wanna do stuff to get stuff
* huffs and grumbles to herself*

*edit
i know most will think im nuts, but i think i may shelf most of my hunters because of uniques being made common and probably not hunt down or tame anything else beyond what i have now because to me there will be no point in doing so regardless of other posts of 'personal challenges, new explorations ect ect ect' at least for me, i still explore after what i might be able to accomplish with that hard to track, tame or whatever pet. new pets each patch are cool but really not needed or required for me, im happy with what we get actually, id rather have that rare/unique jewel pop up unexpectedly.
this edit really is not a rant, (much =p) its more of a why bother on rare/uniques anymore? in all too short of a time there is no point to getting em.
it may be time for me to hang up all of the bows and guns and just run around on some toon i have no clue on how to run and just be a poke master and make gold farming mats for others.

Tsavo'ka...that's an awesome name for a feline mob. :D Might have to wander over to the Timeless Isle and tame him at some point during the next expac, when my level goes up.

Here there be dragons... http://dragcave.net/user/Tahlian

And here there be more dragons, too...http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&id=22415

Updated with the new Black Bengal Goat ID. The new ID is for the ones that have the sha effect. The old ones (already in Petopia) still remain in parts of the Vale and don't have the effect. Also of note, the Reanimated Quilen that used to only spawn during a very specific part of the Golden Lotus chain now seem to spawn regularly in the Silent Sanctuary (just east of Mistfall Village). Wulon is now a rare and has been moved to the same chamber.

They're still humanoids, but hopefully that will be fixed. It's been reported at least.

Humm, here's hoping the pink crane skin gets replaced or bumped up a level. Seems fairly strange to put in a new rare to just be like LOLNVM in the last raid patch of the xpac.

They made 4 of the 10 tracked rares skins common on this island... so my question is why did they only make one tameable at content? Thats what doesn't make sense to me. Sure Patrannache is tuff to get but I've rehomed twice as many Savages easy (the implication being the Savage skin *seems* to be more desired).

Unfortunately the designers can only use new skins if the art team makes them. We're now fairly late in the expansion and the art team will be focused on more important things, and we're just about out of unused skins for Pandaria beasties.

Great Turtle Furyshell has a new look at least. It's the first time that skin has been available on the epic model.

Both crabs (one common, one rare) also have new looks, but they're 91 so we probably won't be able to tame them till next expansion. Sorry i still haven't created images for them, they're a bit complicated.

For unseen colours of creatures that fit in Pandaria, there's still an unused plain jade quilen, an other colour of thunder wolf, stone direhorns (thought perhaps not really Pandaren), and a whole suite of beautiful new bats that are completely unused. Plus a Pandaren tiger and a crane skin that could be used if they were copied from other folders. So we can always hope something shows up still. The PTR isn't over yet :)

Added Reanimated Quilen, which used to be classified as humanoids but are now tameable beasts. Nothing exciting, though: they're just grey stone.
