Neither, I don't think. It's a totally new wolf model last I heard.

Looking at the OP, a few last notes..

There were at least 3 color variants of the wolf, maybe 4. Including a very dark grey.

4 color variants of the boars, 3 in the tan/grey/lightgrey variations, and one "frost" version that had some icyness to it.

There were talbuks running around ally starting area as well, I believe all existing colors, hard to confirm with lighting conditions. A few crocs running around, seemed to be existing skins. There was also a few foxes, wasps were the simple yellow ones (the ones currently in Loch Modan.

Horde starting zone had only the boars and wolves.

Ok... can't think of anything else...

Tried to get out of the starting zones, didn't work, and I don't think they would have been happy with me scoping the other zones out with other techniques... ;D

Didn't have a chance to try it.. they were watching quite a bit. Most of the people were doing the one dungeon. But a few were exploring like I was.

From what I've seen (there was a short clip somewhere showing one walking) they're currently using the traditional worg skeleton but I really hope that changes (come on blizzard if you can make them run properly in the trailer you can make them run properly in game I believe in you <_<). Some real fun news is that they'll have brand new wolf sounds!

Replaced the boar image with a better one. Still not great, but better. I snagged this from the dungeon preview video. The boar has no armour and it appears that the ogres are offering some terrified other races to it as dinner.

Boars deserve that update. It's good to get some down to earth-ish (spikes on the back after all) boars. Last time we had a new boar was in TBC. I might actually tame one now, they look incredible.


Hope they also allow the armored versions to be tameable.

I hope that where they can that some of the old world models get updated as well. The old boars are going to look sad alongside our new character models...

Oh gosh, that new wolf and the boar look incredible. Hopefully they'll change the skeleton for the wolf but with that texturing I may just have to retire my old Prairie Wolf and say he had a pup, haha.

I hope that where they can that some of the old world models get updated as well. The old boars are going to look sad alongside our new character models...

Maybe some new rares in 6.0 or 6.1 that have the new models?

That new wolf looks very nice. I'll probably get one. I've never been a fan of boars and have never had one but the new model does look much better. I'm interested in the river beast too.

New wolf model. Which is like a "no harness" version of the newer wolf mount. Slickrock confirms at least 3-4 color variants of the wolf exist, including a very dark grey.

Been wanting this model since the mounts popped up!

Remember people nothing is confirmed until the expac goes live no matter how many models and in game shots/movies/trailers etc we see. (See the unused looks here on the site that have sat around for years.) Even then if it make it into the live game that does not mean it will be tamable.
