That's one crazy barbershop O.o

Wonder if its just a beta/ptr thing for checking out different faces. Hope not.

I suspect not, seeing as in PTR you can just make a new character to test out the faces. Hope not, at least!

Barber shops have gone full-on Fleshcrafting at this point.

I really hope this goes live. I'm underwhelmed by many of the new faces (in comparing them to the current corresponding face) and had pretty much resigned myself to using all old models because of that. I might reconsider using new models if I can find faces that better suit my toons than the one they've assigned me.

It's probably their best answer to the 'you better give us free recusts' argument. Now I guess the only real reason to recust is to change gender... but that's okay.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

An easy option for remaking toons if we don't like updated faces faces :D

/applaud

This probably the best way Blizzard could have handled the "I don't like my new face" -problem. Bravo Blizz, bravo.

Now all we have to worry about is if the skin colour we chose doesn't translate well. They're slowly working on those (my zombie stoner dwarf got updated in a recent patch and now is just a stoner dwarf and not a zombie, woo!) so there's hope yet!

(I mean I still would like some sort of sale on recustomizations/race changes/etc. to coincide with the new model drops (be it the 6.0 one, or the 6.1+ one where BE and worgen/goblin go as under the knife as they're gonna do) since even a face change isn't gonna fix it for a lot of alts, but we're definitely a lot closer, haha.)

Oh this is such, such good news! I was fearing that I'd have to remake most of my characters as I'm less than enamoured with their updated faces, and now I won't have to. Yay! Thank you Blizzard!!!!!

oh wow what good news! This will certainly help balance out the demands for a free characters recustomization. (which i supported) Skin color would have been nice too, i can think of one or two toons I would use it on but the biggest offender i have heard complaints about over and over again comes from players not liking the new face they got stuck with. I myself have a druid I was not all that enthusiastic about who will be using this new feature. I am quite happy with this. ^.^ it gets rid of almost all of my problems and worries.

Love the barber change :D

Maybe someone more attuned to the beta can answer my question:
Has there been any word on the NE female hair? A lot of the hair suddenly looks really flat, like no highlights compared to old model. One of the older builds looked like they had at least half of the hair looking a bit highlighted, but now its gone.

I know, beta is beta, but curious if there was any word anyone had heard :)

edit:
Specifically purple I guess, since it seems some of the other hair colors look really nicely detailed :o

I think it was a smart idea to do this. It lessens the amount of complaints they will get.

They seem to be constantly tweaking the character models and things like hair color and shading are part of that. I've seen screenshots on MMO showing how the colors have changed since earlier beta versions but it's apparently still being worked on so it's hard to say what the end result will be. Currently the colors look a little more deeply saturated but with fewer highlights, but that might be because they're still trying to settle on the color palette. Hard to say.

Ah ok, that makes me hopeful then. I will sit back and wait then. Thanks! :)

Regarding the hair, managed to find the post I was referring to:

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/151 ... st29386768

So I don't know if the more saturated coloring is what they're going for, or if they're going to add the highlights back in, but that's where it currently stands in beta. But character appearance keeps changing in beta (every time I log in I spend a minute spinning the camera around my toon) so it's pretty clear that nothing's finalized.

Nope :( They still look like deranged monkeys. I haven't actually seen any model fixes in the past few builds but I'll be honest, I've mostly stopped looking. I've resigned myself to having to abandon a lot of my alts (even with the barber shop adding in faces there's still way too much wrong with a lot of the models for me to be able to stomach playing them).

I'll take the new female Tauren over the nasty female Worgen any day. And I play Alliance. =/

And this is Blizzard's art direction, not ours. I gladly welcome it, they look so freaking adorkable! <3
