I saw this and got curious so I went up there and messed around. The smaller wolves he is surrounded by (like 8 of them) can one shot me by themselves (they can be kited, I did kill one this way but no loot).

But Nok-Karosh himself, the one that drops the mount, hits for a TON. He hits much MUCH harder than raid bosses. Considering tanks in raid testing only have 350k hp...

I am thinking they either expect a hundred players to corpse rush this thing (if its open tag) or theres some gimmick to it.

It could just be one of these weird beta things I guess. His stats might not have been squished correctly or they don't want people to kill him yet, who knows. But I tried the other night too and got one shot xD Crushing... 800k overkill or something. Was all excited when I saw him spawn too.

Still no clue if he will be a group kill, solo kill when he's got the correct stats or a raid boss.. Guess well see

I'm sure it will be a group kill, sort of like Galleon.

Though I also think that the reason it's damage and health is so high is because they don't want him killed yet. There's no way they would have him be able to one-shot a level 100 tank.

I am definitely going to keep an eye on him. The world bosses in the Draenor have 6 times as much health as he does, but all this could change.

He's also not listed in the journal whereas the others are, so I don't think he's like Galleon either. I think it's just a stat squishing issue because they maybe don't want him killed yet, as mentioned... He still could be a group (5 person) kill, but it'd be great to have a 100% drop, solo kill type deal to camp again too.

Maybe he'll be like the warbringers but just not rare - like a grp kill like mentioned before. I think that would be cool. Get a mate and go kill him for a mount.

No, way too fast. I tried and even with aspect/disengaging he was able to catch up and one shot me.

Anyhow. Its intresting. I could see him beeing a group kill. Similar to the MOP rares that drop the dino mounts.

I know this is probably stupid... and I'm sure people have figured it out by now since I'm a few days late... but could he be one of those things where you need to be naked to avoid his damage, or at least have the 0 armor thing? I remember getting a good chuckle watching hunters try repeatedly to tame the two challenge cats in The Regrowth in full armor.

I've tried thinking that way lol. Tried killing one of the wolves near him to see if it weakened/enraged him. Tried different slows/stuns to no avail. Looked around the area for stuff on the ground that might help me fight him or apply a debuff to him. Haven't tried fighting him naked yet though xD

I think it might have something to do with the garrisons.
The lv 1 perk from the stables:"Enables the capture and training of special mounts on Draenor"

No; at least that's not the case now. The mount journal lists it as a drop, and I've captured all of the current stable-mounts myself already. (Still in the process of training them though.)

There is a wolf from the stables but it's the brown skin that you find in Nagrand.

I really hope I will have better luck with the world mount drops of Draenor than Pandaria. The fact that he isn't listed as rare makes me feel hopeful!

Maybe he is meant to hit insanely hard. As a comparison to my above pics, here is how hard an actual world boss hit me.

I have an idea.. He's too fast to kite on foot even with cheetah/disengage. He can not be slowed, stunned.. But my talbuk from the stables enables mounted combat and is quite fast (can be made even faster by using aspect of the pack). Wondering if he technically can be kited this way. But if so I know it'll take me a year to down him, lol ;-;.

Would be cool to get a raid group together that just tries to burn him as well, running back and rez'ing when its their turn to be killed

A problem though I just thought about. The talbuk only lasts for five mins and I believe can not be used in combat. Doubt Nok can be killed in a mere 5 mins this way. I can confirm though he can be kited when riding your talbuk. So if the mount wouldn't despawn, could probably down him.

I'm wondering if perhaps at some point this is going to be Alani 2.0 where you need to craft/obtain an item to actually be able to help you slay him. Alani just couldn't be hit, but with this guy....YOU can't get hit. So I'm just pondering if this is gonna be along the same lines where you need something special to actually engage and win.

Maybe, but I don't know. If there is an item, I haven't found it yet xD And doesn't look like we'll be getting a hint. *cough*

Edit:

Also thought maybe pulling him through a place like Wor'gol as horde might help - have those npcs attack him and help dps him down. But seems my horde stables doesn't have quests available for any of the trainable mounts so I can't kite him there. Also pulled him to the front of the Horde garrison on my alli (that has the talbuk) to try and get the horde there to help, but as soon as they hit him he ignored me, one shot those who attacked then started chasing me again. ;-;

Tried pulling him to those giant lvl 100 grons (seeing as they attack the water elementals in the area I thought maybe they'd attack any enemy, lol), I tried dmging him in lava, slowing him in water...
