Garrison Follower Limit

Unread post by Magnakilro »

To those hoping to collect all followers that you possibly can...this is a warning.

You can only have 20 followers at one time...any more and you will be locked out of missions till you reduce it back to 20.

Barracks lvl 3 bumps the limit up to 25.

Also some followers (like Kaz the Shrieker, Morketh Bladehowl, or Ziri'ak) are locked if you don't choose the right Outpost building.

Follower lockouts I can think of:

1: In Gorgrond: Kaz the Shrieker and Penny Clobberbottom require the Lumber Mill at the outpost

2: Gorgrond: Bruto and Spirit of Bony Xuk require Sparring Arena in Outpost.

3: Talador: Morketh Bladehowl requires the Armory

4: Talador: Magister Krelas requires the Arcane Sanctum

5: Spires of Arak: Ziri'ak requires the Trading Post.

Those are the known 'requires specific outpost building' followers.

Nnnngh. Why don't they just limit the number of missions that you can choose? :( I'm a collector, dammit. I *want* to collect. It's *fun*. Hell, nowadays it's what I play for!

Is there anywhere that has a list of all potential followers, including pictures?

Nah. I can name the known Horde/Neutral ones but that's about it

Abu'gar: Fishing in Nagrand. Find his lost stuff around the zone and he's yours.

Alexei Barov: MUST HAVE LVL 1 OR BETTER LUMBER MILL IN YOUR ACTUAL GARRISON! Search small Timber spawn points till you find a fallen tree with legs sticking out. Chop it and he's yours.

Blook: Hidden on a high cliff in southern gorgrond. Talk to him and defeat him and he joins.

Bruto: Only available if the Sparring Arena was chosen for the Gorgrond Outpost. Complete all quests involving Stonemaul Arena to unlock him.

Goldmane the Skinner: Free him from a tower in Ironfist Docks in Nagrand

Ka'la: Rewarded for clearing the very first follower mission

Kaz the Shrieker: MUST HAVE LUMBERMILL IN GORGROND! Complete all quests involving Razorbloom and the areas south of it.

Lokra: Rewarded for completing the Frostfire Ridge finale, Battle For Thunder Pass

Mulverick: Complete the quests he offers at the ogre mine under Bladespire

Olin Umberhide: Auto first follower

Shadowhunter Ra'la: Complete all Darkspear quests in Frostfire.

Tormmok: Found in the southern jungles of Gorgrond. Help him kill some Primal and he joins

Ulna Thresher: Reward for clearing the mission 'Stonefury Rescue'

Vivianne: Visit Ashran via the breadcrumb quest. Vivianne joins at the end of the small quest chain there.

Angkra: Alchemists only: Complete the quest chain started by the Mysterious Flask Durotan gives you.

Kimzee Clutchpop: Complete all the goblin quests in Spires of Arak

Magister Krelas: Must have Arcane Sanctum in Talador. Complete all his quests (takes up a good portion of the zone)

Blademaster Nashra: Found in Magnarok (FFR). Complete her quest and she joins.

Gronnstalker Rokash: Colossal's Fall (FFR). Complete his quests.

Image of Archmage Vargoth: Find his hidden items around draenor and hand them to a guy in Khadgar's Tower (Talador)

Lantresor the Blade: Complete quests involving the Burning Blade in Hallvalor

Morketh Bladehowl: Must have Armory in Talador. Complete his quests involving the Ogres in southern Talador.

Nat Pagle: Must have maxxed Draenor Fishing and a lvl 3 Fishing Hut.

Pleasure-bot 8000: On the small island Terokkar Refuge is set up on, complete Ziz Fizzik's quest to unlock it.

Soulbinder Tuulani: Complete the Talador finale.

Ziri'ak: Must have Trading Post in Spires. When you use the Garrison ability to summon a trader, he is sometimes selling this follower.

Aeda Brightdawn: Found at Auchenai Precipice in Talador. Complete her quest.

Penny Clobberbottom: Must have Gorgrond Lumbermill. Complete her quests in Tangleheart.

Dagg <Master of Dis Guys>: Find him in various locations around Draenor. I found him in 2 locations in Frostfire (Grom'gar and somewhere else). After that he'll be at your garrison, offering his services.

Benjamin Gib: Apparently you can just talk to him at the dead Alli garrison in Spires of Arak and he joins. Not sure though.

Phylarch the Evergreen: Must have Lvl 3 Lumbermill in Garrison. Chop Large Timber trees in Draenor and he randomly spawns. Find and defeat him 3 times to unlock him.

Those are the known ones so far. I tried to hide the unlocking methods for those that wanna do it themselves.

Thanks Magnakilro! I found some more by searching the term 'follower' on wowhead, and looking at the uncategorized spells.

I just hope they DON'T keep the limit in....make it like a hunter stable...you got the 20 (25 with lvl 3 Barracks) active followers...and the rest are in reserve. Maybe put a long cd on swapping followers.

Is it bad that I only want Night Elves, Worgen (Beast form) and Botani followers in my Alliance garrison?

Ahah awesome, totally going to be planning out my followers before WoD hits. I like town planning, so definitely going to love the garrison feature. Anyway I digress, i'll stop posting off-topic in this thread now, sorry!

Sorry for the necro but important info came up regarding this

According to a recent interview, if you hit the follower limit (20 or if you have a lvl 3 Barracks, 25) you need to deactivate the excess followers you get past the cap. The deactivated followers can't be used until reactivated. They will retain EVERYTHING you did to em. Reactivation has a gold cost and daily cd.

Also at level 100 you can switch your outposts in Gorgrond, Talador, Spires and Nagrand to the other building option...possibly allowing us to snag ALL the followers in the zones!

TLDR COLLECT THEM ALL! Active cap (Like hunters having 5 pets with 'em rest in stables) any exp gained stays.

*Wonderful* news for us collectors! :) I don't mind town planning a bit (although having to choose between two buildings will make me sad) but I am much more the collector than the arranger. Plus, it'll still mean you have to plan which ones to 'turn on' and 'turn off'. Which I'm frankly cool with. I think this is the best possible way they could have implemented it for my own personal playstyle.
