Awesome!!!

I saw some quiver files added to the latest list in the database. However when I checked them out they were actually old files, they just hadn't been in that list before. I wasn't sure if it meant anything or not but I guess it did. :)

I do hope quiver's colouration matches with our bow.

BM already has the ammo belts from WoD for mogging, but some bandoliers would be nice...

Also go see the tweets Bendak made.

Yay!! I wonder if we will be able to mog them into the older ones (if we have them still) - I still have mine from my Rok'delar chain :)

I hope these can be toggled on and off. Personally I like a cleaner look, so no quiver or ammo pouch for me. But I like the idea of it being an option.

I wonder if they will only be for the artifact as well? I'm going to guess yes, but hope no :)

If they do retro fit them, It's going to be tricky so to try and avoid a LOT of clipping. 1st of all many bows sit in the middle/across the majority of the back.

Image

and the fact is they all seem to sit different, so they would have to go a revisit near all bows to make sure the clipping does not look to bad.

Now with the new artifact it looks like they can/have locked the bow to off the shoulder on one side and the quiver on the other, which avoids too much clipping of each other.

Image

It looks like they have also had to tip the top of the bow forward, and tip the bottom of the quiver closer to the body, so the quiver sits between your back and the bow. The sitting image above shows this quite well.

However the other issue of trying to fit the quiver and the bow together without clipping, and positioning them apart to do so, means they they then sit closer to being under each shoulder. Which then creates a whole new clipping issues with shoulder armour. The image above does not even have overly large/bulky shoulders, and the clipping by the quiver (standing pic) and the bow (sitting pic) are quite substantial.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the idea of a quiver, but when we had them last, they didn't have compete for room on our back with our bows.

Image

Now I don't think that it's not possible to make this work, I just see it potentially creating a lot if clipping with more extreme sized bow/shoulder/quiver combinations. If they did sit down and tweak all the combinations to make sure they are all not to bad, that would be freaking excellent, but it's also a LOT of work.

As PBC mentioned maybe a way to toggle them on and off might be a solution too, but then again someone would have to sit down and create the coding/room in the menus/buttons/transmogrify slots/prices, etc. again not just an couple of clicks, but maybe the easiest of options.

Who would have thought that adding quivers could potentially be so such a task to implement successfully....? Maybe blizzard already knew, and as such thats why we'd been without them for some time now? For me, Fingers crossed there is an option for all bow users to sport a quiver (including the vannila ones) and they find an elegant way to avoid too much harsh clipping :)

Realistically, they won't be able to do that much reworking. And frankly, I'd rather have them working on other parts of the game (coughpetscough) than trying to fix every possible bow combination.

And then there's xbows which still are a joke when on the back.. shrinking 20-50% of the size..

The best solution might be to have the quivers be a visual effect for only the artifact bows, and not there for other bows.

(and in before someone complains that the quiver doesn't match their mog...)

Didn't they say they were putting in an option to turn off spaulders? Like Helm and cloak.

Then you don't play a female Orc. Many, if not most new spaulders clip into the helm and/or head. Most notably the right side goes in further than the left, no idea why.

ImageWhy does this NEED to clip into her face???
ImageI blame the new models for this, it didn't used to clip so bad.
Only the old low riding ones seem to fit well, otherwiseImage

I must confess, I never really thought about the shoulder size before you mentioned it. Perhaps it's just my x-mog.....

The only thing I notice is that the idle character animation is such that the head is slightly turned to one side which means that the ear on that side is closer to the shoulder. Maybe that is what people are noticing?
