I was in Highmaul Highmountain and died...did not become an eagle (BM spec)...would have been handy, I disengaged wrong off a waterfall and ended up somewhere my spirit couldn't reach...

Seems to be Survival hunter only thing. Did not happen to me on either BM or MM... not that I specifically tried, of course * cough *

And the perks of being Survival just keep better and better
Sorry, but loving the whole spec, inside combat and out. And definitely seems to be a survival hunter perk, just died in stormheim and was an eagle there too.

Survival is a very nice spec. I love the artifact's theme and lore (Wild Gods), as well as the gameplay, though I prefer it for PvP. Despite all my plans for Titanstrike as first artifact followed by Talonclaw, I somehow ended up maining Marks and loving it

Eagle form while dead has been listed as one of Talonclaw's special abilities since at least launch.
It's not new.
