What about owls for Nightborne hunters? Sylgrin has a pet owl.

Oh yeah, I forgot that those demon hounds were the original dark iron companion animal! I agree they'd be the most logical choice, because of that history. But as you say, they'd really need an update first!

People had data mined new encrypted demonic dog mount on the ptr server, so there's hope!

Core Hounds kind of fit Dark Irons, too. As mount or pet.

For Zandalari, anything goes: Skyscreamers, Raptors, Devilsaur, the new Pteros, the new lizard models, those Brotosaur (if they do become tameable), Direhorn.

A simple way to generate a golden panthara with golden glows. At least in theory it should look very lightforged, though it’s hard to be certain how it’ll turn out without testing it.

I actually just realized, and I don't think anyone's pointed it out -

Nightborne start at level 20. It's entirely possible they'll start out specced Beast Mastery, which would be them having the manasaber making more sense.

We don't know how the allied races will start, talent wise, but I imagine they'll force each class into a certain spec (I'm guessing the same as the class trials) and let you change it after you reach a city.

The fact they start at level 20 means that Blizzard can force them to start as beast mastery and give the starting pet as exotic, if they keep exotics. (Though personally I wish they'd just ditch the "exotic" tag, it's outdated)

I feel like Highmountain Tauren should have a moose to be honest. Just put them in the Stag family.

Or the Manasaber may be an exception and be in the cat family order to let all three specs use it.

I would love a golden/white panthara! I will make a Lightforged hunter on the express purpose of getting pantharas, so a special color at the beginning? <3
I can't support on the official forum tho', as it's the american one.

I would prefer a Light-themed Panthara over a Talbuk. However, the Talbuk does make sense, seeing as they were brought along with the Draenei when they fled Argus.

Could this be the Manasaber "cat" that Nightborne start with?

That is what Wowhead was saying. I guessed prior that this Manasaber would be an exception and not be a Spirit Beast.

Hope this is not already posted but these are the Allied race starting pets:

Allied Races:
Great Eagle - Highmountain
Lightforged Talbuk - Lightforged
Voidstalker - Void Elf
Manasaber - Nightborne

One of the pets to note is Void Elfs get the void form wrap stalker skin, which is still untameable. Also Lightforged Draenei get a Talbuk that has the same glowing tattoos.
