I'm in as well now. Ironically, I have not played actively for about a year. I am trying out the alpha though.

My husband is (not sure if that counts) but I use his computer and check it out.

A bnet friend of mine as well as a guildie also got into the alpha and I suspect it's because all of us have been playing nonstop since vanilla. Two of us were in final beta for vanilla, too.

Between raiding, trying to level my moose druid, and RL, I've not been spending as much time poking around in alpha as I'd like. Most of my time has been spent checking every beast I come across to see if it's tameable. I've found a few, but most of them can't be tamed. I'm assuming that their just not flagged, since many of them use current models.

I did come across one of the 'horned toad' type lizards that I could, and did, tame. It was this skin:

He was classified as a crocolisk. I hope they're all tameable in BfA.

Very cool I didn't start until BC.

My earlier comment was in response to Smyelmdar, who pointed out that he got an invite despite not playing for a year. I'm happy for him, but it is kind of an odd selection system. This time, a lot of people who are the mainstays of smaller fansites (at least ones I've been in contact with) and work their guts out in their spare time to advertise the game or provide support data for players have not yet received invites - but inactive players are receiving them so they clearly have invites to throw around randomly. The two major fansites have invites, of course. We'll be patient and hope for something soon, but the current strategy has been harmful to smaller sites who can no longer gather first-hand info on the upcoming expansion. And that first month was critical for page views, nothing can fix that now. Fortunately I found kind people (some of whom work for major sites and some of whom are freelancers) to help me to get access to the database, at least. But I was lucky to know the right kind of hangouts to find them. What the WoW management intends with this strategy, I don't know.

They're so awesome Such a beautiful model. I still haven't classified them on Petopia, because some are crocs and others basilisks. I kinda like the name "saurolisk", which I think some of them use, though they don't have the trademark six legs of the other *lisks.

When I first saw one, I knew I had to find one that could be tamed. They occasionally do a tongue flick that I finally managed to capture in a screenshot.




EDIT: Looks like he's a Zandalari Leguaan. I like Saurolisk better, myself.

Huh cool . Leguaan is Dutch for 'iguana'.

I just got my Alpha invite.
A bit at a loss as to what I should do. It automatically created a level 110 character for me.

Just start questing and testing things. Most information that we can currently access has been gathered. A taming pass won't happen for a while - probably not till Alpha goes into Beta.

A new wave of alpha invites must have just went out. I'm in as well.

My BFF got one. Congrats guys!
