Blizz has just announced that Patch 8.0 will be launching on July 17th, as suspected. The full article can be viewed here

I am not prepared.

It's about time they announced it. Though, they took their sweet time; we already knew it was going to be soon, but they waited until halfway into the week before it comes out? What about the less-enlightened who never look at Wowhead or fansites? That tiny population is probably in a frantic panic trying to get stuff done!

Either way, I'm logging out in Un'Goro on Monday. That Pterrordax WILL be mine the moment I log in.

They said that the pre patch would be released 4-6 weeks prior to the xpac's launch date. The 17th is 4 weeks prior. They probably waited till later this week to announce it in order to insure that the patch would be stable and ready.

As for those that don't know about what will be going away on the 17th or have chosen to procrastinate, that is on them. Blizz and Wowhead have released articles months in advance concerning what needs to be done prior to 8.0

Is there a list of the 8.0 tameables anywhere? My stables are ready.

That is a good idea. I think I shall park my hunter where I can grab my unicorn quickly!

Guess I should also park at Un'Goro Crater! I really need that golden beetle!

That end time is the absolute latest that they expect the maintenance to go. I've seen them set such times and then finish several hours early.

Yep, same. In fact I joke with my guild about it because I get off work around 3 PM. So every time they say a patch/maitenance will end before 3pm, I've gone home from work early to play only to find that the servers were down until 3pm ("Should've stayed at work!"). And every time they say it'll end at 3pm, I won't take the day off work and bam, servers up by 9 am ("DANG IT I'M STILL AT WORK!")
