I'm not entirely versed on this website's layout yet, but I did my best to make sure this wasn't a duplicate thread before I made it. Sorry if I overlooked one, but I just really wanted to show you guys my new tame.

I'd been eyeballing these beauties since MoP, and I think Shelly is ecstatic to add yet another dinosaur to her stable. Something about a gnome who loves and spoils giant big-toothed dinos like giant puppydogs just tickles me so. His name is Pterry, pronounced "Terry"


And like all gnomes, Shelly has her weakness for flightless birds. Bubblegum is quite enjoying her new makeover.


And an obligatory Rex screenshot, or he'll get jealous. Rex isn't used to things being larger than him, so when we ran into this old skull in Vol'dun, of course we had to drop everything so he could have a 20 minute scream off against the dumb thing.


So if any of y'all wanna share your tames, I'd like to see 'em.

Much like you, I've been waiting nearly 6 years for these skyscreamer models to be tameable. Fell in love with those toothy mouths the moment I first saw them, and I've been pining after the purple one ever since.


And I'm extra giddy about this beautiful goth unicorn. I wish there was a purple model tameable (like the Lucid Nightmare), but this is easily my second favourite.


Black cobra!! I was making due with the diamond-back but this is the one I really wanted.


Also glad they added the purple krolusk, I'll have to see if this one clicks with me more.

I don't remember the skyscreamers being THAT large on the PTR, or I would probably have noted it. I wonder if they had an adjustment after I tested them, though a deliberate change to make them larger is unlikely.

They can get small, you just have to set them on fire first

The very first thing I did once the game came back up was to go and grab all of mine.

The blue and purple on Lunaire, not sure which I'll keep even though she has the blue Zandalari pterrodax already. Neither named yet.




The red on Aislinn, also not named yet. I spent the better part of thirty minutes trying to find a high enough place to tame him from since none of the perched ones were red and I couldn't tag him or else he'd go splat. I also want to tame Somber Dawn on Aislinn, but not till the hype dies down. >_>;



And, lastly, Rosephel and Butterscotch, the only skyscreamer who currently has a name. I usually don't think much of yellow, but he really grabbed me and he's rapidly becoming my favorite of the four.

I rarely ever participate in the PTR, so I had absolutely no clue that Vathikur was going to become tamable! I ran out and grabbed him this morning.




It's funny because I'm not really a fan of this model, but there's just something about this guy that drew me in.

Does Somber Dawn need a specific world quest to be spawned in, or what? Because I went to the island but it doesn't seem to be showing up there.

It's definitely not always there. If the WQ is active then it definitely should be about, but I'm unsure outside that time. I know on the PTR I went looking for it and didn't find it but Quiv found it a few hours later.

Yeah, I'm not sure on specifics, but he's only up sometimes. I never found him on the PTR but I was lucky and he was running around the moment I logged into live.

I don't think I noticed a WQ being up though so I'd check even if you don't see it, just in case.

When I found out a particular beast was going to be tameable in 8.1, I decided I really wanted to tame one, though doing so meant having to let someone else go to free up a stable slot. It wasn't a fancy, new or particularly special beast, but it stirred up memories from leveling Horde alts for the past 14 years. Even those weren't enough initially to get me to decide to tame one of these guys.

But then, I thought of the perfect name for one...

Meanwhile, Thorn (Mavarnir) looks on with derision at the new arrivals to the stable yard:

I got a skyscreamer, zhevra, storm wolf, and a bunch of other new colors and got the toad today, it’s not that hard, you need to freeze trap the toad in place and hit tame, they’re all pretty cool

So, I tamed a Young Skyscreamer and um...she can fly LOL

She REALLY wants that Nalak mount

My favorite live tames were my twin blue wolves...though gosh now how I wish there was a tameable version of this mount.

Had to clean out my stables for these guys but was worth it and yes Swiftmane is the real Swiftmane from Barrens also Saberfang my blue Gara used to be Hati on beta so here is hoping Hati comes back since they changed the model As for the last image it is me with my furball of death, Meatball, and Glacier my new favorite pet.

Had to go get this guy. Got another hunter (Rika) to go with me, and it went smoothly. Trying to solo it is rough. Tame is easy enough on normal.
