Pet resistances - rank 5?

I recently had a query about whether hunters could really learn rank 5 pet resistance abilities (Arcane/Fire/Frost/Nature/Shadow Resistance) in Vanilla. Apparently in Classic the trainers don't offer them.

I added rank 5 because our earliest data included them, but it's possible they were added in early BC. Does anyone have any memory of when rank 5 was added? Or can anyone find any evidence online of when they were added? I've been lookign through old patch notes, and Wayback Machine versions of guides but I've had no luck :/
