Managed to grind my way to the quests that let you see the green kunchong. They're quite noisy too. Lots of soft crunching and similar noises.

Testing Akkolon right now. It shows tameable, and tame beast works, but IDIOTIC NPCs stand right where it spawns, and you can't take aggro. I've tried trapping and scaring it, but the NPCs are the dumbest of the bunch I've ever seen. They keep attacking it no matter what. You can't take aggro, but it will target you at times. Trying to find a sweet spot to tame it.

EDIT: Tamed it. Akkolon IS tameable; you just need to Scare Beast early, and tame it quickly. Had to try a few times, but it worked. It retains its name when tamed, too. No on-click sounds. Screenshot shows one of the NPCs acting like a smooth-brained NPC as well.

Moth of Wrath keeps its name when tamed. Time to go check all the random named quest mobs again!

OK, just checked, is showing as tameable to Beast Lore but an attempt states it isn't tameable.

Thanks, I’ve updated those that now retain their names.

There actually could be a number of them on this list that now retain their names: https://www.wow-petopia.com/tamenamesuggest.php

I think a fix pass happened some time in Beta and we haven't had a proper check since.

I'm going through as many of those as I can on live today. So far, I can confirm the following do not retain names: Goldie, Korthos, Magoo, Mara, Rose, Scout.

EDIT: I'll update this post with my findings.
EDIT 2: I moved them over to viewtopic.php?f=3&t=26266&p=620377&hili ... ng#p620377. I'll keep THAT updated.
EDIT 3: I've checked almost all of the pets listed from Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, and Outland. I'm done lol

While checking pets for names, Snowblind in Winterspring has an odd feature. When it's summoned, either as an NPC or as a pet, it comes out curled up like an embryo in an egg. It unfolds and takes the normal gryphon animations. Recording software's a bit uncooperative today, so just take my word and screenshot for it!

I guess it’s all the old world gryphons, I prefer to have feathermanes that run on the ground, the wyvern/wind rider is an exception since it least suits the feathermanes due to lack of feathers, but who cares, we can tame them, I hope Blizz will bring back old hippogryph sounds, those bird sounds are real annoying

Last week, we got confirmation that the Massive Ik'thik Kunchong and the Ik'thik Colossus are tameable last week on beta and this week on live, but I don't see another fun thing posted. The Ik'thik Colossus has creepy whispering (or muffled screaming?) when it's idle. I compared it to Akkolon, another blue kunchong, and sure enough the weird sounds only happen while the colossus is out. Definitely worth noting that on the main site since it's such a wild detail. It almost sounds like a Klaxxi issuing orders in Invader Zim's voice or something.

EDIT: If you have sound muted (CTRL+S ingame) when summoning it, it will NEVER have the voices. If you want its voice, you have to summon it with your ingame sound unmuted. It will do it in animal companion as well. God help your sanity if you have two of them!

Kunchongs do have weird stepping sounds, it sounds like it’s walking in mud, I hate that, but other than that, it’s the best addition to the family

Since I noticed how bad SV has got when I farmed for coins of many faces, I told myself, you know what F this, BM is better, so here I am with my new undead devilsaur, i'll probably tame like a damaged colossus or something else exotic that aligns well with undead

Has anyone tried taming the Aqir Bonecrushers in Visions of Ogrimmar? Just ran it and it says they are tameable. Going to give it a go later.

I also can't tell if they are the black or purple aqir goliath model from in game or from screenshots on Wowhead. So identification there would be helpful as well.

I just looked at it on model viewer, guess what? It’s black! We got a tameable black one :)
