They might be overly geared. Most low lvls that I've seen struggle to stay alive and kill anything.WerebearGuy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 7:19 pm Also, not sure if you noticed, but low levels absolutely murder anything they attack. Level 10 hunter just instagibbed a rare elite. Good thing I break off and avoid being near them.

Thanks for the listWerebearGuy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 7:09 pm I didn't know people still did normals, let alone leveling people. Also, I just saw you lol.
Edit: These can't be tamed;
- Frostscale Broodmother (Hydra)
- Ano, Forest Keeper (Stag)
- Greathorn Uwanu (Stag)
- Scythehorn (Gruffhorn)
- Shredmaw the Voracious (Crocolisk)
- Chittering Spindleweb (Spider)
- Wandering Behemoth (Turtle) ((I want this guy for his name alone))
- Azurespine (Not labeled with Beast Lore, should be Rodent)
- Clattershell (Crab)
- Wavespitter (Crab)
- Gloamhoof the Elder (Stag)
- Mistfur (Gorilla)
- Old Longtooth (Oxen)
- Luminous Crawuler (Crab)
- Doting Calfmother (Oxen)
- Stonehorn the Charger (Stag)
- Razorback (Turtle)
- Gorgejaw the Glutton (Serpent)
EXTREME fair warning; the "Misty Portal" in Kvaldir invasions will softlock you; you can't leave the ship if you teleport there.
The only things we're expecting might be tameable are pre-SL models that were only made tameable in 9.1, like cloud serpents, kunchong, pythons and old snakes, undead hounds, etc. Before then, all IE pets were intentionally untameable, so nothing from that era is expected to have changed.
I would like to add them all to the suggested tames list, however, since they obviously don't mind us taming old content. Is there a list somewhere of IE beasts from the islands that were added later? I don't think I ever added those, just the earlier ones.

@Wain the list that I compiled for you a while back should include everything that has a unique name and/or appearance, including those things added to the IEs added later

This is why I can't trust Wowhead's database on live. I also misread Val's post, and thought the ones not listed under "Still not tamable" were tamable. Also, I managed to see every loa-skinned toad and every large critter-skinned toad, and they're all untameable.
I spent all day listening to crappy fireworks and farming islands to look for this guy, too. WTB daily reset.

Yeah, unless it is on the list that Wain posted, there isn't any chance that it is tamable at this point, unfortunately.
Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
Thanks I would like to compile a full list of IE beasts (that use tameable models), though. Currently we have 136 creatures. I suspect there are hundreds more than that

Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
I might compile a full list of IE beasts from Wowhead (and some mechanicals?). Not to steal and use Wowhead's data, but to give us an idea of roughly how many we're missing, and if it's mostly newer island stuff or three are lots of original island creatures missing too. It's something I can focus on that will keep my mind occupied at times when I really need it. It'll take my mind off everything else.

Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
Only two of the four islands added in the patches added some new beasts, but they aren’t any special nor are there many of them. Jorundal did not add any new beasts, Havenwood added a couple of Hounds, Snowblossom added a waterstrider, and Crestfall didn’t add any new beasts.
There are currently about 800 beasts in IEs, though not all use tamable models. There are a few critter models used for some, namely the frogs, the partially submerged jormunger variants, and two stags that use Druid forms. Off the top of my head, these would be the only things that wouldn’t be on a list of things to be flagged as tamable.

You bet, Wain
Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
I removed Skycrack from the list, since it's been reported tameable (and keeps its name).
I also added a few more IE pets to the list that are flagged tameable but haven't been checked since before 9.1: Foulshriek, Fleshrot Plaguetalon, Inferno Terror, Volcanor, Brimstone Hound, Brimstone Pup.

Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
I already checked Inferno Terror and Volcanor. They are in my post in the last page of this thread. They are not tamable. I am fairly certain that Foulshriek is also not tamable.
For some reason, Wowhead is flagging things in IEs as tamable, even though they aren't.

Re: Input needed: "Instance Taming Bug" NPCs
I pruned everything from the list that had been checked and weren't actually flagged tameable (which is presumably a Wowhead error). That reduces the list to:
I think most of those haven't been confirmed to be flagged tameable - they are just shown that way on Wowhead. So they could be errors too.
NPC ID | Name | Family | Zone | Should Retain Name? |
138659 | Brimstone Hound | hound | Island Expeditions (Scenario) | |

140695 | Albino Dreadfang | serpent | Island Expeditions (Scenario) | Yes |

The Albino Dreadfang is not tameable.
