Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
Funny enough, all of the issues we have with the new rhino are present on the old woolly rhino, yet we don't take issue with those. Then, when you look at the clefthooves, you see stocky legs, a full mouth of teeth, and everything the rhino is missing. I think rhino models are in dire need of a touch up. Even the old elf ear lynx models look more modern.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like the hunter is the duck and the gnome is the pet?

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
It does somewhat
Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
Regarding all those 'texture combo' looks I created for magmammoths and phoenixes - the ones where you mix and match textures, like a red glow on a blue mammoth. There were so many combinations that I didn't originally include them in the database, because the number of possible combinations increases the number of looks dramatically, while showing nothing that is currently available.
So! After much messing with the code, I've been able to to class them in a special way and display them in the guides in a show/hide widget that is initially set to hidden. So users can view them if they so wish, or skip past without ever being bothered by them.
To see them, go to:
Phoenixes: https://www.wow-petopia.com/dragonfligh ... _phoenixes
Magmammoths: https://www.wow-petopia.com/dragonfligh ... agmammoths
Scroll down to the bottom of the model's section, and click on the widget.
At the time of writing, I've also updated Panthara to use this for their look combos (see their section on the Cat family page). There are others I could also do this to when I get time. Perhaps not moths or spiked crabs, since so many of those combos have already been used that it's become convention to treat them as standard.

I'm a big fan of cooler colour palettes so I absolutely love how some of these turn out! I'm not sure if the devs will utilize this but I really hope they do because it makes for some gorgeous combos!

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
I have been able to confirm a few beasts that, while they were flagged as tameable in SL but could not be due to their elite status, are tameable in Dragonflight.
Hopecrusher
Kil'mazor
Sister Chelicerae
Night Mare, which does not have any special effects.

Due to errors with the questline, I am not able to reach Zereth Mortis due to problems with the questline.

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
Probably not for this xpac, I'm afraid. Usually mobs or bosses in raids are made tameable two xpacs later. So anything in BfA that could be tameable should be in Dragonflight.
Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
I think this is the first time a Cricket has been given Beast Status? It's intended too, it has a drop table and everything.
I doubt it'll be tameable, but still interesting to note.

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
oh, I'd love a cricket! The battlepets jump so high though, does the beast version move differently?
Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
Same animations, it's not too bad though.GormanGhaste wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 6:04 pm oh, I'd love a cricket! The battlepets jump so high though, does the beast version move differently?

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
There is a reasonable chance that it'll either remain untameable or be made into a Critter.

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
I forgot to mention it, but the Mystic Rainbowhorn is not tameable. Originally it was flagged as tameable, but at some point it was flagged as untameable.
Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
For those who were looking forward to the Rikki Monkey lookalike, the only times I've seen it are in the new photography/rock climbing mini games, where you take pictureso f them or they throw bananas at you.
Obviously, it's alpha and subject to change so it's possible it will be available somewhere though.

Re: Beta 10.0 Beast Thread
I've seen them throughout the zone, but even those that can be attacked are not tameable. Hopefully that'll change, as you said
