Sorry to spoil your fun Uxul!

While on the topic of add-ons, I think mine's up to a stage where I can let others play with it and tell me all the things that are wrong that I haven't realized so far. The 4.0.0beta1 version should be showing up here on Curse sometime soon.

I'll be glad to play around with it! Perhaps we need a new thread about the addon and feedback once you put it up?

I must say, thanks so much for posting this and updating it :D I'm a little late to the party, but it's already helped me understand the new pet dynamics a lot. Kudos to you :D

To be honest, I've been using my charts more in raid and 5mans to answer questions like "WTF, why can't I cast Horn of Winter?!" One quick at my chart and I can say "Well it's probably that Strength of Earth totem, we should get the shaman to use a different one."

It's been exceedingly helpful. I have to say that I have yet to be in a raid where all the buffs/debuffs weren't already covered by another class. That Star category of "Whatever Pet is Prettiest" is a whole lot of fun!

Oh, a few tidbits I've noticed over the past couple of days:
  • Arcane Brilliance and Dalaran Brilliance both increase your mana pool and are stacking right now. Shh... don't tell anyone!
  • Some of the pet abilities that used to be subjected to diminishing returns (such as the Ravager's Ravage, which used to be a stun but is now a 4% phys damage debuff) are still under the effect of diminishing returns even after their abilities have been changed. It's a bug, probably just the remnants of lazy coding, but I wouldn't take a Ravager on any fight where DRs are a big deal (like Heroic LK for example).
  • Also, Acid Spit (from a worm) which is also a 4% physical damage reduction, is overwriting the rogue ability Expose Armor for some reason, even though they are completely different debuffs. Faerie Fire and Sunder Armor don't get overwritten, but Expose Armor does.
  • There could be tons of similar bugs out there. Make sure to report the ones you find... at least the ones that aren't helpful anyway. ;)

To be honest, I probably should be taking a ravager to my 10-man for the increased physical damage debuff. But, I was so excited about being able to bring Naphthali that I didn't say anything. Shh, don't tell!!! :D

It does seem that for raids, for the most part, it will be up to us to decide what we want to bring. Five-mans might be a little different, but even then, we should still have a variety to choose from.

Yeesh, I have to level about 11 different pets to 80!!! That's not including Gondria whom I haven't acquired yet.

I referred someone to your spreadsheet last night, Zee, since he was having trouble settling on a "main" pet he liked who also had good utility. (He settled on Goreclaw, the raptor.) Very helpful!

Acid spit USED to be like sunder, so that sounds like more old coding.

Did they take the AOE stun away from Burrow Attack, or am I seeing things?

Effect #2 Apply Aura: Stun

Seems to still be there. It's just not in the tooltip.

Although....there's the possibility that people are misreading this effect and the stun is actually applied TO THE WORM, since they don't move during the attack.

I don't know if anyone read that EJ 4.0.1 hunter FAQ I linked in another thread, but it actually included a link back to this thread as their reference for pet buff/debuff info :)

@Rhyela: at least it's only 3 levels per pet now! :)

Yeah a guildie of mine actually pointed out that EJ thread. I suppose it would be polite to link back to them on page 1 right? I don't think they actually linked back to Petopia, but they did mention and credit us, so that's something.

Thing is that it's a Marksman thread, so they won't be making any use of the exotic pets. All the talk I hear is that MM is actually the weakest of the three specs right now, and BM and Surv are pretty competitive. Regardless, I'd probably be BM no matter where it stands because I'm having so much fun with my pets right now and I don't have to worry about min/maxing on my alt. ^_^

BTW... I'm still confused about Worms. If they're doing any aoe DPS, then I can't tell. And it certainly doesn't seem like they're stunning anything. It looks to me like they just stand there and channel the burrow animation and do nothing. I need more precise data...

Worms definitely do AoE damage - mine typically ticks for roughly 2,000 on each mob. However, I feel that the stun referred to is a stun on the worm, not the mobs. You cannot command your pet to do anything while it is channeling the spell. I'll have to play with it to figure out if the error message mentions anything about "cannot do that while stunned" which would confirm that the stun is on the worm and not the mobs.

Edit: Also, for Burrow Attack to work, your worm has to be in the midst of the mobs. Before I figured that out, I tried using it as soon as combat started. The Burrow Attack was only a few yards away from me while the mobs were about 30 yards away, so no damage was caused. When it burrows, it basically has to be beneath the mobs.

I multi shot once and then stick to arcane on single targets 'cause multi is so expensive... but it was enough for my awesome Miles (per hour) the Turtle to tank some heroics yesterday! ^_^ Bless my guildies for participating in my grand experiment. All you need is a DPS class that can queue as a tank to come with you and you're set for some HEROES IN A HALF SHELL... TURTLE POWER!

I find I can usually get in two multies, then press fervor and do two more multies. Then I return to steady steady multi. I also toss an explosive trap plus the snake trap for maximum carnage. *gleeful cackle*

As BM, TBW+Kindred Spirits+Fervor should allow 8-9 Multi Shots in a row without running out of focus.

(110 starting focus + 50 focus from Fervor = 8 half cost Multi Shots, then focus regen and Invigoration over the first 8 seconds should give enough focus for one last hurrah)

There was a link back here when I first read it, but I suspect they switched to locally hosted copies of the images when Petopia was struggling with the post-patch traffic load.

I should have specified that I was talking about my level 37 hunter. I haven't done much on Sara yet aside from soloing, where things die too fast for any real "rotation". But that all makes sense. :)
