Quests or parts of Quests you'll really miss, come 4.0.3a?

Unread post by Trinia »

Well, I'm doing the Battle for Darrowshire quest on my main, cause I'm a lameo and never got it done before. :[ And well, with this, please note, I'm pretty necrophobic, enough that the first time I saw the Insane Ghoul in the one chapel in Duskwood I jumped and ran away. Ghouls pretty much scare me to death, especially their beady little red eyes. So, needless to say, ghosts following me at high speeds scares me. >____>;

HOWEVER, I adore the idea of "debuffs" like that. Having stuff follow you out of the blue. Also, epic chains are epic, which the Battle of Darrowshire is.

So, any quests in the old world you're going to miss? I know I'll miss a bunch, but I suppose it's for the best to move on with life. :) (Also, note to self: Get the Furbolg Rod on all my alts, before it's Ashenvale only!)

I'm finishing my dungeon set 2 chain on my priest. The whole thing is done except Gandling won't drop my devout helm. It's somewhat satisfying to have that done. It was a major chain back in the day. Even now, it's a pretty big travel quest towards the end. Definitely worth it, and I hope Gandling will spit out my helm before next patch, or I will be a sad troll.

Good luck with that! I had planned to get Benediction on my priest for over 6 months now, but I kept forgetting to make time. Bit too late now. :[

The Furbolg Rod comes from an Ally-Only quest in Ashenvale: http://www.wowhead.com/item=5462 Basically, the wand turns you into a Furbolg for three minutes. Despite it possibly saying it only works in Ashenvale is wrong. However, the one that is retained with Cataclysm DOES only work in Ashenvale. Hence my hurry for the wand now. c:

Aaaaand... after three days and two Headmasters Charge, three Ace of Portals, four Robe of the Void patterns, a gazillion Lightforge helms, and a smattering of everything else, Gandling finally gave up the goods and I am done.

Re: the rod. If you have done the quest, and didn't get to keep the rod (because you did it too long ago)? Ticket it! It worked for me. And what's the worst that can happen? They say 'no'? ;)

I will greatly miss the quest for Benediction/Anathema. It's my favorite quest in the game and a wonderful, special part of the Lore that meant a ton to me. I love the lore surrounding WPL and EPL, Arthas, the Scourge and pretty much everything connected to it. Learning that little bit of story through the quest for Benediction meant a lot. I'm sad to see it go.

Battle for Darrowshire quest chain.
Tirion Fordring's quest chain in EPL.
The Rakh'likh quest chain in the Blasted Lands.

Any and all class quests that Blizzard has removed or is going to removed. Including the water totem quest.

What. They're removing the totem quests too?! Arg! I remember doing the Horde Water Totem quest way back in Classic! I relatively recently went over to that spot again and giggled to myself. It's one of those spots that you would never find otherwise. I really like those. :[

Sadly, they've already been removed. Which is a shame, because I was leveling a troll shaman specifically so I could experience them. I understand that a lot of people found the quests to be a pain, and I wouldn't have minded if they made them non-essential, but class-specific quests are part of my incentive to level new characters in the first place.

Also to be missed:
The Blightcaller Chain
For Love Eternal
Mor'Ladim's chain
The Dark Riders quest chain

It's not so much a quest, but I think I'm going to go say hello to Greatmother Hawkwind in the old tauren starting zone one last time. It turns out she is the first casualty of the quilboar attacking and her funeral is the centerpiece of the new starting zone. Her quest pretty much sums up the Taurens' tribal way of life, so it seems significant somehow.
