The legs are indeed broke on the bear model, the right leg folds into a limp as it runs just like mounts and bugs the hell out of me. Bear form does the same.

Personally, moar colours please and fix that limp. Aside from diseased I only like the white (Mocha who runs with the BBB). Also, only Polars ever struck me as fierce in the wild really, everything else looks cuddly unless pissed off while Polar's have a more constant vibe.

Aww, I love the current bear models. ^^ Not saying I'd be opposed to seeing a new model tossed in as an option, but the originals have a charm of their own. Love that bear butt!

The only bear I've been able to tolerate for any length of time is my troll's diseased bear, Festergut. He matches my diseased wolf, Rotface, and future snake, Putricide. For whatever reason, that naming scheme bonded him to my troll (and swipe was also pretty nice).

I picked up a bear on one of my hunters recently for an experimental build...a sort of "heavy dps". Misha's really turned out to be one of the better experiments so far...he's specced with every bit of dps cheese a tenacity pet can have before touching anything else to buy down, but he still takes hits better than most of the tanks so far. Been the last one standing with him at my side more than once.

They're not popular because they look like massive rats in this game. That's why I won't even consider one anyway.

Bears never really sat well with me, but to be honest I think it's more or less the lack of colors and the tree they belong to.

Case in point, I have Arcturis on my tauren hunter, and I love him. But he's a Ferocity pet, and transparent, so I can have bear essence without really having a bear.

The real bears...all their colors are just so dull. None of them have ever interested me because of it. I might have considered the black bear, but I really hate the weird bald patches they have on their faces. Sometimes their faces irritate me with the jaws, too, but I can get used to that. This, combined with the fact that I'm not really a fan of leveling with Tenacity pets, has just made me avoid bears entirely.

I really think the bear model would be improved if they changed the bear model to make it more high-shouldered. This would also have the benefit of not feeling like you're about to fall off a bear mount constantly.

I'm also one of those people that doesn't like bears because of their huge bubble butt and their "hobbling" run animation. That's why I don't like bear pets, mounts and form. Though I don't mind their gums.

I'd certainly appreciate a bigger variety for bear pets because I very much like the idea of having a bear by side, but every time I tame one it just ends up bugging me too much to keep it.

Speaking as a dwarf hunter, I would love to have a bear, but... a few things.

1) The lack of interesting models is a problem, esp when viewing from the backside.
2) The vanilla animations are also a problem.

but, I think the real problem is...

3) Abilities. There has only been a few segments of time where the bear has been the go-to tenacity pet, or before that, simply a tanking pet.

The lack of those abilities combined with the lack of interesting models is what really hurts. And when they do add new looks, the are undead things.

Eh, the Rest animation makes up for it, if you ask me. Plus, my bear looks like he's fighting with a conviction, rearing up to unleash a Demoralizing Roar at intervals.

But, I am also in favor of seeing more of my bear than his butt without having to move my camera angle

Wait - what? With the changes to Burrow Attack, I use bear for almost anything except bosses when soloing. Demo Roar is great for not only damage mitigation, but grabbing aggro as well. I remember relying heavily on Demo Roar on my druid before Swipe had its Rage cost cut in half. If you ask me, the only other pet that could possibly outshine my bear in AoE tanking is my chimaera. However, he's best reserved for quickly demolishing non-elite trash packs, since his performance is pretty bad against elites. A Warp Stalker could possibly do a better job of holding onto mobs by slowing them down and increasing the chances of hitting them with a Thunderstomp. However, it's a small benefit, and your pet won't be as durable.

Eesh. I just remembered the limp. They can't fully extend one of their legs while running, and it makes my arm hurt. x.x I want to reach in to the game and stretch their leg so my own arm won't feel so cramped up.
With bear form, I just have to jump a lot - that actually fully extends that leg.

With new colors and a larger scale, I still might tame one, if only for Rest.

Also, black bears are actually one of the two (black and dark brown) bears I really like. xD They have "intelligent eyes", with a pupil, instead of the solid color ones. The "bald spots" are just lighter colored patches of fur, like eyebrows... Not sure why they have them...

Guess I'm just in the crazy minority then... I like the weird, lumpy, rolling run on both the bear pets and mounts. It's probably one of my favorite rear view ground mount animations other than the amusing jump-flap that hawkstriders have.

Not surprisingly I also don't mind the limping run that worgs have.

I hate how their lips don't come together under the nose. They have this big ol' gum-colored gap. What has been seen cannot be unseen. But beyond that, they've just never really appealed to me, I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because they seem a bit dull. Honestly, I think I could actually live with one if it used Arcturis' model, with the fur running down the back and the facial markings.

I suppose that gum line is an irksome graphic, but then again my bear is the Diseased model which doesn't show that.

Either way, I think I still like them overall, they're just too adorable and bumbly. x)
