Re: Definitive List of Flying Pets
Checked the new winged pets in my stables:
Angered Arakkoa Protector- doesn't fly
Emerald Spirit- doesn't fly
Stinglasher- doesn't fly
I think it would be a huge quality of life improvement for hunters if our winged pets could follow us down jumps. There are a lot of instances where you end up jumping down from somewhere in 5-mans. If you don't dismiss your pet first you run the risk of him catching up to the group with a pack of trash behind him, and if you do dismiss you have the dps loss of having to resummon after you land from your jump while the rest of the group is blasting away. I know it's not a huge deal, but the little things make a difference.

That's an awesome coincidence!Kalliope wrote:I was afraid my Icarus was bugged out, but if Ol' Beaky is grounded for everyone, that makes sense.
(I love that he had his name before this whole thing cropped up...my flier Daedalus, who's a temporary, took his name after the discovery...)

I can confirm the felfeeders do fly. I will post a screenshot.. after I finish this RP.
Edit: Kalimdor eagles are not flyers. I tested those.

Re: Definitive List of Flying Pets
Yay updates! Looks like we cleaned out the 'maybe' list
Well, almost cleaned it out. Lord Condar is still there; you forgot to delete him from the 'suspected' list when you added him to the nonflyers list
Thanks for the work on this. Sure needed someone to consolidate all these reports flying around the forum.
EDIT: This has already been fixed!

Spiteflayer is a flyer.
And he looks really gorgeous while lifting off too!

Re: Definitive List of Flying Pets
Heres the way to guess if a pet is going to fly:
Seagulls for instance in "the wild" fly very high above and swoop up and down around in 1000 needles, if they fly higher than your typical Tame Beast reach, then if you tame them theres a great chance that it will be a flyer.
Aotona for another instance, although a parrot, when spotted "in the wild" she remains low to the ground and never "soars". Hence why she's not a flyer.
I love this thread though, going to go get me one of the neat parrots in Deadmines i think

From tread about Diseased Hawk:

Wrote a ticket three days ago asking if it is intended to tame this pet .. took ages to get an answer.
GM said they to not plan to remove the pet atm but he could not guarantee that this does not change with Cata.
So not to much help appart from "they know, and they don't freak out". Uploaded screen of ticket .. but its in german.

Re: Definitive List of Flying Pets
Darktail Bonepickers, also in Blasted Lands (and using the Buzzard model) are tameable, and fly. Very difficult to get to, but possible!
Come see Kurasu's stables!

Any chance of a screenshot, just to confirm itKurasu wrote:Darktail Bonepickers, also in Blasted Lands (and using the Buzzard model) are tameable, and fly. Very difficult to get to, but possible!

Also, MMO-Champion reported a blue poster listing today's hot-fixes:
I logged on to my hunter with the seagull and it indeed was grounded. Until I dismissed the resummoned it. Then it was able to fly just fine :pMMO-Champion wrote:Hunter pets that were immortal can now be killed, flying pets no longer fly, and pets that were immobile after tamed properly move.
Anyone finding their pets have been permanently grounded?
So far both my undead eagle and seagull and still fliers

EDIT: And any chance a mod could sticky this or something; chances are flying pet discoveries are gonna slow down now that we have confirmed the first batch of beasts, and I don't want people to miss this thread and have it lost in the archives of the forum.
