Works like this:

11 Points Duplicate (Serpent Swiftness 2 + Dive 1 + Spiked Collar 3 + Culling of the Herd 3 + Wild Hunt 2)
=
8 Points left in Wow Logic

So ... I have a near-full Ferocity pet AND 8 point Cunning pet w/ 2/2 Owl's Focus.

Quick bump for those able to log in today and check to see if Akkarao Hatchling was fixed or not?!

If not, this will be the DPS pet in Cataclysm until retro-fixed

This is the same as the ant bug. They kept some of their Tenacity abilities (eg. guard dog, blood of the rhino). So you had to fill in around them in cunning, but they ended up with an interesting combo pet.

Unfortunately I'll also explain the "fix" should anyone want it. I don't think it's a good idea to destroy a unique hybrid, but should you want to, wiping their talents at the pet trainer resets their talents including the bugged ones.
