Expansion has been out for what? 4 days? And I see so many hunters with Terrorpene...

Somehow I have the feeling that if one is looking for something that stands out he should look at other options!

Really! I mean just look at the photo album thread at the numbers only after couple of days. Also since he doesn't require BM-spec and has a very good ability for tanking I think in not too long time he will look very common.

Hehe, it's a bit like Loque before the Cata release then ^^ On my server every other hunter seemed to run around with Loque, if I didn't know any better I would have thought he was as common as muck

Not really if you look most of the hunters who have tamed him are from diffrent us and eu servers

Yeah exactly like with Loque, and he requried BM, which was not even a good spec most of the time then.

And what I'm trying to say is not that he is common as gravel NOW, but wait couple of months ^^

common look or not, he's still a really cool looking turtle, and I think thats more of the appeal then OMG RARE TAME /SPAZ. I remember reading on the forums about a boss or something with this skin, and people where saying they'd be happy if blizz put some mobs in with this skin. I think the main hype atm about taming terropene is that a lot of us have managed to do it at lv 81-ish. When he hits like a truck. Some with help from friends and others who die die die trying, and the great feeling when he's suddenly beside you.
Its that great feeling about taming something that put up a chellange rather then the ones where its "Freeze trap" "Tame" and full health theres your pet.
But when you die at the moment you tame it, and rez to have him next to you, that adrenaline that rushes through you when you think "Am I going to tame it or am i going to die?" Thats what (In my opinion) is one of the best parts about taming these rares.

Yeah totally i tamed him after just hitting 82, i totally thought i was gonna die and loose him he got me down to like 500hp, probably my hardest most epic tame to date.

I'm in love with his appearance, I couldn't care less if everyone had him or if I was the only one. ^^ He really stole my heart when I got him in the Beta, he has so much personality and charm.

Dizzy, he ha been tamed on Sargeras, I showed up just as another hunter finished taming him the other morning.

I love the skin of this turtle, and I don't care if many other people have him. Really.
Plus, taming Terropene was a mini-challenge

I love my Loque'nahak, and when I tamed him, it was a quite common pet

I don't mind either if a pet is rare or not, the important thing is how he looks running at my side!
(Heck I'm finding myself use a scarab instead of the turtle ^^)

The thread was merely a heads up for those that DO, and something to discuss while surveying (did Blizzard actually set their goals to manage to create a profession more boring than fishing?)

I don't mind either, none of the pets I run with is rare
It's more of an observation that tickles my odd sense of humor: the fact that the harder a pet is to get, the more you'll see of them. I've never seen a hunter with a brown tallstrider or a blue moth for example, while spirit beasts are a regular occurence. It probably leads to non-hunters thinking these pets spawn rather frquently since most hunters seem to have them, and that is funny to me.

I'm not saying people shouldn't tame a pet because other people have it: this is an MMO that millions of people play, no one has anything that's unique, there will always be other players with the same item/pet/look as you. So pick what you like, enjoy the hunt and be proud of your stables!

(And I'll bet several hunters will pop up now to tell me their hunter always runs with a brown tallstrider or a blue moth, just to prove me wrong )

I actually ran with a white moth a lot before, it matched my trolls hair perfectly

But yeah you're right, people tend to want the only because it's rare and after a while it makes it not so rare... ^^

(But I suppose, for many the thrill of the hunt also comes in and there's a nice feeling to obtain something that's not easy to get, often I think the hunt is the most interesting part)

I'm the only alliance hunter on my server I've seen with him, and I know of exactly one tauren on the server who has him as well. I get chased around Stormwind and barraged with tells whenever I'm in town.

So apparently, on Dalaran, he's still something of a novelty for now. Even if/when he becomes more common, I'm holding on to him ... Turrask (that's his name) rules!

I've only seen one other person besides myself (horde, anyway) that has him. Other than that other people have been very interested but have no idea where to find him. Regardless, if he becomes the most popular tank pet out there or not, I love him!!!
