Wolf indecisiveness

Unread post by Jakkra »

So... I used to always use one of those prairie barking wolves. And now recently, I've decided I wanted a change, and switched to Gorefang, the light grey riding wolf type model. He's cute and all, but I feel he's kind of too stationary and stoic.

Does anyone here use the Northrend model wolves? I've been eyeing Bjomolf, because the brown is my favorite of the worg NR skins. I was also checking him out on wowhead- the model viewer showed him doing a howl animation, can anyone tell me if there's a howl sound to go with that?

I've also tamed one of the Blighthounds in the past, but felt they were too tiny, and I really didn't care for the running animation.

Thoughts are comments are, as always, appreciated.

yeah, the brown would even match my tier9 armor alright, plus the red eyes are <3 I'll probably end up taming him, just to test him out, since I don't feel any strong connection to my newest wolf, unfortunately.

The northern wolves so have that howl animation, however they rarely do that and there is no sound with it. =(

Urgh, yeah, I just tamed him, ran around with him a bit, intending to level him, but... the run animation seems so awkward, and he looks all gangly and mangy =\ Think I'm going to go against the grain, and just use my raptor for raids, and find another pet to fill this slot, just for fun. :P

I love the blighthound running animation!!! D:

Have you tried the old worg model out, just for funsies? Or are they a bit too much like the riding puppies? (I haven't had one and can't really comment.)

Yep, my last wolf was Gorefang, and it was kind of like staring at a mount. Plus he doesn't move much outside of twitching his tail, and shaking his head every now and then.

So now I've tried out all the different wolf styles (minus the ones in ramps- I already have a mount that looks exactly the same, so I can know what to expect), and I'm feeling a little underwhelmed. Think I'll take a break from wolves.

old cliffjumper and Ironjaw(not sure if thats his name) are two unique skinned wolves/worgs and its the least uses wolf model. Maybe one of those would fit better?

Personaly i hate the Northrend wolf model, the only fella that makes it look good is Skoll and hes not even a wolf.

I agree, I quickly set my Northrend wolf back into the wild, as he just looked so fugly (no offense to Skoll) and that EVERY hunter I see in cities has one. Blech.

actually just resently ive seen a increase in the good old wolf model when hanging in dalaran. specially alot of black and gray ones, now and then a white.
But yes the northrend wolfs still flods the streets.

I rarely see the worg model anywhere, shame, cause the pure black one with its cold silver eyes, the unique skinned couple and the pure white ones are quite impressive when you look at them. They do look a bit stiff and run is funky but they do indeed look like though fellas that wont back down easy.

Btw when i think about it, Blighthounds arent to often seen on my realm either.

I have http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mob_ironjaw.html and love him. He doesn't spend the whole day scratching and doesn't have the weird run and static and broken leg look those big ones do. I do wish he would howl. But he makes up for it.

Well, I caved and re-tamed my old prairie wolf. I think I'll seriously just use my raptor, though, despite him not being the "Best in slot" pet. Other players can just deal.

I have the old timber wolf and I really like his look. I'm not a big fan of the fanged wolves, but maybe they'll grow on me.

I agree with you on wolves... i resently gave up my barking prairedog too and tamed
http://www.wow-petopia.com/images/skin_ ... hbrown.jpg
from lbrs. I choose those wolves because at one point those was the ONLY wolves you could learn bite 8 from.. I know this is no longer the case but i like the history.

But lets be honest.. if the wolves didt have the ap buff.. i would NOT have a wolf how about the rest of u.. would you keep your dog if u didt "have" to have one?
