Finally accessing pets like companions/mounts???

Q. The Hunter class has many odd and situational abilities such as Mongoose Bite and Aspect of the Beast - are there any plans for changes to these types of abilities?
A. Mongoose Bite is most likely a goner. Let us weep. We think Aspect of the Beast could have some cool uses for Beastmaster hunters.

Q. Are hunters likely to see more stable slots for their pets in the future? With the current variety of pets, the amount they have right now seems too small.
A. Arm-waving here, but a model I would love to see is dramatically expanded slots (so you can store all those Spirit Beasts) but have a smaller number of "active" pets, like 3. You could summon an active pet from anywhere in the world, when outside of combat. You would swap a pet from active to the stable at the Stable Masters.

I remember some blue mentioned that they'd like an overhaul of stables mainly because of Spirit Beasts and how all of us hunters like to play Pokemon with them, I believe was their (accurate) wording. And not only that, but it's great for people who like to have a bunch of different abilities at their call and people who just can't decide on their pets, like me. XD

My only concern is if they'll keep the "auto-5-levels-below-the-player" thing, as leveling an entire stableful of pets would be... time-consuming. I really hope they'll auto-level with us.

Why in the world would they take that out? Oh wait I misread.

To be honest I severely doubt they'll make hunter pets auto level- blizzard seems to think leveling our beasts is what bonds us.

But then again Blizzard thinks putting a pet on an extremely long timer, making it an achieve, drop phat loot is a challenge to hunters.

Sorry,I play a lock alt,and I have NO connection to any of my demons on any level. I'm sorry,but they are NOT pets. They are demons,sucked from the bowels of hell and forced to do my bidding. If they die,I feel nothing...just summon
another one.

My pets,on the other hand,get so much love and attention,I literally do everything I can to keep them alive and healthy.lol
I have a hard time remembering they're not really...you know......real!

And on topic...HELL YEAH! 'BOUT FREEKING TIME!! Would have what Saturo said..two of every skin... make it happen,Blizz!

Hunter pets are still the only pets with a happiness tracker and the only pets that need to be leveled.

Sadly, there are a lot of lurkers who post on occasion who pretty clearly DO treat their pets as disposable (this is one of the reasons I never wanted a spirit beast...until Arc), which bothers the rest of us, who adore our pets. These are the same people who never bother naming their pets or give them terrible names. The thing is....there's nothing stopping them from playing the game like that, and it's their choice to do so, regardless of how much it bothers the rest of us.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I personally would retame my PvP pet's various incarnations so he could morph through his various race changes whenever he wants. Quantity doesn't necessarily mean a diffusion of love for pets. ^_^

For Lazona: King Krush (Vermithrax), Feral Dragonhawk Hatchling (Ilarion) & Terror Spinner (Ananansa)
For Kas: Skoll (Maugrim), Rak'shiri (Velistrasz) & Scarlet Tracking Hound (Sunshine)
For Cley: Disembodied Jormungar (Napoleon), Loque'nahak (Banaded) & Alystros The Verdant Keeper (Yaffle)

...man it's hard culling down a large list of "wanted" pets. And for that matter, coming up with decent to-be names.
I think I need more hunters LOL

This is great news... Yay!!
Now this will allow me to go back and get all of my animal freinds I had to let go back to the wild; Wonder if they'll remember me???
Hope they go through with this idea!!! Having only 2 viable tradeout slots for pets, suck... Don't want to get rid of my Hydra (Chuckles) or slime (Goober).. Then my requisite Skoll (Frostfang) still my fav pet!!! And Pitch (Moksha) and a barking wolf (Thudd) for raids.. Sniff.. The last 2 I could get rid of; but would realy hate myself to have to... I do like the looks of the pitchblack lion running next to me.. And the buff from the wolves is very nice to have for raids... So right now I have a full stable of pets I realy want to keep

I read this and became Happy Hunter.

I like having pets for different situations, especially with dual spec being an option. And now that I've re-respecced the dual spec (are you following?) I find I want different pets to test. Except my stable is full. I CANNOT get rid of my turtle. He leveled through most of the game with me - I'm too attached!

I CANNOT get rid of Vephriel - that was a lot of time spent in ZD (ugly, ugly ZD).

And I loves my white devilsaur. He ALWAYS gets comments in SW. People seem to love him. Hubby says he looks happy.

But...I also want Skoll. And Loque. And...that stable is getting cramped...

I like this, too. If I had had a bigger stable last night, I wouldn't have had to let Surge (my silithid) back into the wilds of Un'goro to tame Blaze (my wind serpent). No way I was getting rid of any of my other beasties, though.

Ah, cramped stable syndrome, I has it. Right now I have Meza (my hyena), Orotund (devilsaur), Charn (wolf), Harun (Arct), and Lalayin (Loque') all of which I love dearly but now I'm down a tanking pet for old world dungeons (had to drop Arala my warp stalker to tame Lalay, and frankly I miss her spunky attitude. :_:), so the sound of this being tossed about is music to my ears! I like the thought of having access to a few pets normally and then more back at home. Presetting your pet would be nice do to just so one couldn't "Swiss army knife" during BG's or on PvP severs, but still be able to get out a set of three pets for that purpose.

Well, I tamed her, so I get her pet too! So my DPS is like WHOA now...or something...
