Pets that you have never liked/never would tame

We've had quite a few discussion of our favourite pet species and such, so I thought it would be interesting to see the reverse side.

Are there any pets that you just don't like at all? Some that you would never, ever want to tame?

For me there are two species:

Gorillas - I'll be honest and say that I hate Gorillas. -.- I've never liked primates in real life despite being an animal lover. Chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys (except for the cute little fuzzy ones)...they just weird me out because they're too humanoid. The in-game Gorillas are ugly to me and I have never even remotely wanted to tame one.

Dragonhawks - I'm not a fan of flying pets in general, but for some reason I have just never liked the Dragonhawks. I think a big part of that is that I hate the colours orange and pink, and those are the only tameable colour schemes they come in. If the blue or black+red one were made tameable I might consider them, but overall I'm just not fond of them in the least.

Gorillas.
They're ugly. I remember back when they were called gorilladin, because they were THE AoE tanks. Obviously, I had one, but...

Rhinos.
I think they're ugly. They're also far too big, and they also have a useless family spell nowadays. I actually liked bowling in AV. I knocked so many hordies off of that bridge...

Loque'Nahak.
Not a family, but I still dislike him. His model is ugly, and his roar is incredibly annoying. Also, he's constantly vomiting.

Corehounds.
I don't like any two-headed pets, but these are by far theworst. They're big, they go stomp-stomp. I also dislike the model. It's a vanilla model. Those are ugly.

I like this idea! hmm Ill have to agree with you on the gorillas i was never a fan and im pretty sure i never will be. I guess being honest, i hate gorillas.

Im not a fan of the common tallstrider colors, i do like the purple, and turqoise though (not a fan of the color pink in general =/

I dont like the common boar, or bear models either, i do like the diseased and armored ones.

I think the top of my list is the ravager. I'm sorry, I think they're ugly and creepy and just not something I would ever want to tame. Some of them do have nice color schemes, but I still don't like them.

Secondly, I don't think I could ever tame a worm. The jormungar is sort of ok, but the rest of them just look like parasites. All I think about when I see one is something that I'd find in dog poop. X_x

I don't like core hounds, either. They're annoying and ugly, IMO.

And perhaps lastly, the bears. I know, so many hunters love them, but I just cannot get into them. I think they're drab and I hate how their mouths look when they're closed. Maybe if Blizz does a little bit of a graphics overhaul and improves some of the old pet skins, and the bear is one of them, I'll think about it. I admit that I liked Arcturis more than other bears because of his big mane, but he still had that odd-looking mouth.

Same then most of you, gorrillas were never a favorite of mine, even when they were really popular I stuck with my raptor and warpstalker. Too humanoid, bulky without being that imposing.


Boars in general, never like them much. Their abilities are great dont get me wrong but I hate the sound they make and their look in general is too slender and odd. Gimme a big brawny boar over those scrawny things anyday.


Rhinos I think look cool though maybe a little bland in color but have such a terrible ability. Too add some variety to the breed I would suggest to blizz to add the clefthoof and Kodo families to the Rhinos.

I'm with you in that I'd never tame a gorilla. I don't care for the models, plus I've seen waaaay too many with just.. horrible names.

Seriously, the flapping, the noise, the size. It's annoying to you and anyone else you happen to be grouped with. Even in pvp, I just don't think I could stand having the ugly, noisy thing around.

Turtles. I know lots of people who are avid fans, but... I dunno, something about them doesn't appeal to me.

Any of the Northrend wolves. I'm guilty in that I did tame one (for all of 2 min), but hated it and will never do so again.

Just.. uhg. All I think of when I look at these, is how annoying their knockback is, whenever I level a Tauren.

I'm feeling too lazy to look up specific skins right now. But I can say what animal families I'd never tame.

Gorillas- Like most people, I think they're ugly
Boars- Same
Bats- Same
Dragonhawks- I like the look, but they are just too weak for me
Moths- Boring and I don't trust them. I'm pretty sure they'd poison your drink if you tried to release them
Bears- I have a huge fear of bears. Just looking at them on screen ruins my mood. It doesn't help I've lived in areas with real life bears. I've been within 50 feet of one, so...
Serpents- They look too much like naga. If they looked more like real snakes, I might.
Worms- Ugly, and don't seem worth it.

Why are so many tenacity pets ugly? The only ones from that list I'm not saying I'd never tame are ones that I already have tamed... and released. Limited models and low DPS. Even Blizz dislikes them.

That reminds me. I want a flying tenacity pet so badly. Perhaps giving us the Silithid Wasps as flapping tenacities. But how you can dislike bears I don't know. I've patted a bear. It was relatively cuddly.

Bats are the only pet I seriously dislike. My god, their models are horrible.

Probably the only pets I dislike is the Gorilla and the Wasp.
The rest have grown on me since taming them on my alts...and I will be taming more come Cataclysm.

My biggest irk about Gorillas is their idle animation. There's nothing really that cute about the damned thing scratching its butt all the time D=

And the wasp, the rapid wing-flapping...epilepsy fit waiting to happen to someone! Though I did have plans for the Sapphire Hive Queen at one stage, but missed out after I realised that flapping would probably disorientate me before long. But I do envy those lucky few with her. Her colouration was definitely the best of the three.

Oh and i forgot, im probaly the only one who does not like the ooze pet, its ugly, its small, i dont connect with it. I had it but the sounds it made annoyed the heck out of me.

Gorillas -- Too humanoid. Ugly face, ugly model, ugly sounds. Plus they remind me of so many horrible death runs through Stranglethorn.

Ravagers -- Although they come in lots of nice colors, their model is really unappealing. Aside from being outright ugly, that body shape is completely impractical. Seriously. How could an animal that looked like that even survive? Plus, they make the worst sound in the entire game.

Most Outland models in general -- While I like the two-headed buzzard, and many of the Outland types come in really pretty colors, I find the models to be ridiculous. It's like the designers were trying too hard to make them look dangerous and badass and ended up just randomly throwing a bunch of spikes all over the place. Weird and silly.

pssssh my uhk loc gorilla is pure adorable frosty love <3 you're all crazy! there's nothing cuter than when he's beating down 20+ giant rhinos at once and calmly scratches his bum as if he's unphased.

skoll or gondria, both models are just not for me
wind serpents, remind me of gigantic sperms
chimeras, don't like their look or the clogged toilet attack sounds

THE worst ones of all to me are the scorpids and the spiders omg! They're amazing looking but just move too realistically, give me the heebie jeebies (shudder)

...I actually think the WoW gorillas are pretty badass. ._. They're my favorite primate. I'm quite sad that they're pretty useless now; Uhk'loc is one of my favorite skins on any pet.

That said!

I hate dragonhawks because they don't have any legs! They don't even get the wind serpent excuse of a long body to coil up in--they simply have no legs! That's why I dislike them--it's like they're constantly flying for their whole lives!

The "mine spider" model. Tarantulas are adorable in-game and out, and for some reason I like the incredibly spiky Outlands model, but yyyggghhh I can't stand the black widows. They move too freaky and are just... no.

Sporebats. They're cute, yes, and they glow, and while I'm sure they're useful for raiding and make lovely pet-lava-lamps... they have no eyes! Or discernible features at all. So I can't really relate to them or give them a personality or anything.

Sholazar wasps are too bulky; the Hive Queen was okay because she reminded me of that old AQ boss and was just really pretty, but I'm not fond of the other two blue ones.

Jormungars. They freak me out.
