Re: Twilight Buzzard/Firebird
I was able to tame several with good placement and concussive shot before taming, but it will probably take a few tries until you learn range and such. Any haste makes things easier but isn't strictly necessary.
Also for the curious, the jouster is a separate mob that despawn upon tame (think of the wpl hounds with foxes.) You can't special or macro tame to keep them.

Twilight Firebird
They're in a cave within Hyjal, the same one in which you get this achievement. This is the first quest that takes you to that cave.

Re: Twilight Buzzard/Firebird
If I do get it to attack a target (and I have to literally go in melee range of the mob for the bird to start attacking), then it only uses "attack", but none of the focus-costing abilities. (Everything is set to automatically attack though).
If I manually click the abilities such as bite/demoralizing screech, it flies to the mob, carries them out, and flies back to me, continuing doing nothing.
Pet settings are pretty much the same as for my other pets, defensive & follow, so all other pets with this setting run to my target and attack it til it is down, just this bird doesn't.
Any ideas why it doesn't attack as it should?

Try dismissing and resummoning it once, or failing that, let it die once. That *should* fix it.Shootix wrote:I tamed one of the Buzzards while doing the quest today, but it seems to have a very strange behaviour. If I want to send it to attack a target, it just stands next to me, doing nothing.

T'was I. Posted them around that time because I was testing the tame/abandon/relog trick to see if the pet wouldn't spawn with a rider. Unfortunately, it didn't.ummeiko wrote:They've been tameable for awhile (i think someone first posted about it when we were finding special aura pets.)

Hail Thor-show thy might. Let thunder roar and lightning strike!
Hurl thy hammer into the fray. And let thine enemies know fear this day!
