I mostly mentioned it because contraceptives for *men* are pretty limited at the moment, compared to the options for women. I suspect at least having the pill available would be useful. Granted, the permanent option tends to be easier for guys but...

Vasectomy is a good alternative for those men who never want kids. The problem with that though is by chance you run into a woman you love who wants kids of her own but you've already in essence "Fix'd" yourself. You're left with options but the options are not as desirable as having kids of your own in today's mindset.
I firmly believe that your parents are the ones who raise you, not the ones who birthed you. However in this day and age you'll find it hard to find a man willing to do that without the commitment of marriage.

Zinagaro pretty much pointed out the major reason against a vasectomy; it's permanent and irreversible. Someone like cowmu's father, who (presumably) is in a committed, loving relationship can feel comfortable making such a decision. Anything less, and there would be a significant chance of him later regretting that surgery.

Personally i would just say you want both of you to get tested, There is no way to say it nicely, End of the way sexual health is incredibly important and looking after your tom johnson or tally waker or penis whatever you want to call it is a serious issue for all men, Just tell her honestly you want peace of mine because she told you of her history, Nothing more nothing less, You cannot say it nicely

I've been on the (female) Pill for years now, and I have to admit, my pill-taking schedule isn't as strict as my doctor would probably prefer. I've missed days, or I've remembered to take the pill hours later than usual. I usually take it after I get up in the morning, which can vary from day to day as well. On days where I don't have to be up early for school, I'm not getting up, pill or no pill.

I haven't had any pregnancy scares, but I did have a "mini-peroid" when I forgot to take them a couple days in a row in the middle of my cycle, so I should probably be more careful.

On that note, people I've talked to about male birth control pills seem to assume that men are incapable of taking a pill at relatively the same time, every day. I think that shows a great deal of mistrust in the male half of our species. If girls can do it, guys can do it too, IMO.

I was told by my doctor that you have an hour before/after grace period before the pill is considered "late." I also don't know if it depends on the pill or not but with mine, I have to use protection if I miss more than 2 days during my time. I would definitely check out the specifics for whatever type you're on, since they could be different.

Anyway, if a male pill or something came out I bet we would use it. I take my pill religiously but still feel a bit nervous when I'm waiting for my period. It would be more of a backup thing for us, I think. It would definitely make me feel better and if I screwed up my pill for some reason, I know my boyfriend would still have his method just in case!
