Third Spirit Beast found! Magria - Blue Gondria

I...kinda fail to see why all this hubbub is being raised over pet recolors. This isn't a new practice in WoW, after all... I'm sure everyone remembers those lovely feathered raptors sketches from the Lost Isles, but they ended up being your average Outland spike-y variety. Sure, I was disappointed (as were others), but considering making new models takes a tremendous amount of man hours sometimes they have to cut corners to get content out to the lot of us in a timely matter. This is no different.

People have been daydreaming on the day that the white and blue versions of Gondria would become available and they're damned spoiling the lot of us by making so many sought-after skins available in one swoop. Normally you'd get one or two new shiny critters in a patch, not -eight-. Granted, they (thus far) mostly exist in the game files already but I can't remember how many times I have seen people go "Oh, man... If only THIS skin was tamable. *dreamy sigh*". But now we're getting them and people are indignant and saying that Blizzard is being lazy? o_O

I might not be a Beast Master, but I think having these spirit beasts are lovely and I'm excited for those who want to make them their own. And I can't wait to see what other animals we find! (I hope some are non-BM though... Haha.)

This isn't some trend where Blizzard is going to just recolor old spirit beasts from now on. This is a rare occurrence where other spectral cat skins have been in the database since the model was created. Three were made, one was chosen for Gondria and two skins that many people find very beautiful were left unused. Just like many other awesome non spirit beast skins have sat unused until Cataclysm and are now available for those who want them. The only other spirit beast where this is the case is Skoll (again, 2 unused skins).

Noah has been going well beyond the call of duty to ensure missing skins are available for those who want them. It's probably approaching 200 skins now. He's been simply amazing. With the missing spectral cat skins he found a good way to ensure they were now available for those who do want them (and many people do seem to love them). I'm sure at some point in the future he'll find a way to include the missing Skoll skins too. I hope so.

You don't have to like them, and it's fine to say you prefer the original Gondria skin. But using terms like "lame" or "lazy" as if you somehow deserve them to slave over three brand special new models purely for spirit beasts in this patch, for just one spec of one class, is just absurd.

I'm also very glad these skins are finally being put in, as I'm sure the creators worked just as hard on them when they were first made. It's nice to see their hard work finally be shown off.

As I've been saying, I'm very happy with what we have so far, even if I personally don't end up using them. They are very pretty.

Loque is still my prime spirit beast and goes everywhere with me.

Same although every over week a I use a different spirit beast

so in a 2 week time span ill use loque for 1 week and another for the other

Nah. I keep Loque in my 'party' as it were all the time. After I lost Gondria and Articus for awhile after Cata came out and they were in my stables, I never store Loque there anymore.

But I do sometimes put away one of my other pets and run around with two spirit beasts. Karoma is my top second fave.

I don't think I ever used Ghostcrawler for more then like a day. Never clicked with that one.

I never clicked with Gondria because he was too transparent and the eyes not very subtle at all. These new two are pretty much the same, but I'm glad they're available now.

Now, if they put in one of the unused Skoll looks, I might consider camping...

Well I do truly hope they're not all Spirit Beasts. I tend to dislike transparent pets, but I think I may make an exception on this one since she is quite pretty. I do like the blue glow effect.

I imagine Deth'tilac is going to be the elusive blue (or purple) firespider too, so that would be a non-SB.

Mind you, spiders (while handy) aren't considered an 'it' pet, so ... chances are anyone camping these will be purely for the skin and not the functionality.

Now, if they introduce a 'wolf' rare with a fancy skin, people will camp that bastard until the end of time. I gar-un-tee it.

You know, i rolled my eyes when i saw that ANOTHER gondria is now apperently one of the 8 beasts but actually... i really want Magria, i really really want him. I never use gondria for anything, i dont like her, i dont like anything about her but Magria.. magria's color is really amazing and ive become quite attatched to these pictures of her
