Need help with finding a spirit beast that works.

I really like the spirit beast ability (it's awesomesauce in BGs), but I'm having trouble finding one that clicks with me. I have owned all of them at one point or another, and even though the camp for Karoma was thrilling, I'd like to try a different shiny beast.

I want a SB that will look right next to my hunter, a male blood elf. There's a link to his armory in my signature. Sometimes it's easier for me to make up my mind when someone else offers a perspective that I've never thought of before, which is why I'm coming to you guys for help.

And please, if you post a response, back it up with a reason. I'm throwing in a poll if you just want to vote for your favorite and nothing else.

Note: I will also consider the 4.2 spirit beasts!

I'm pretty prejudiced in favor of Loque right now, as I just tamed and am enjoying even more than I thought I would! But for your belf, maybe the green glow kitty? Would match his eyes.

I voted Ahnka, i look at your hunter and i go through each of the beasts and she just seems to click more

I never really gave Ahnka a second glance until you two suggested him/her. But yeah, I think she would look good next to my hunter... and what sold me was the eyes! It didn't occur to me that both the cat and my hunter have those green glowing eyes. :O

That said, I'm still open to other suggestions! 4.2 isn't live YET, anyway.

I have to go with keeping Karoma-- I can see Lanterna dancing in and out, slashing and attacking, throwing a heal to her master as together they pull down their foe, and then turning to share a wink before racing over to the next target.

Now that's just me-- my Arisia has her Karoma, Firefly, and she's a really silly spirit beast to me; the whole pausing while on idle and pretending to scratch (now really, spirit fleas? LOL) and that wonderful bouncy lope next to her mistress. Each of my spirit beasts has their own personality-- Myst (Gondria) is silent and dignified, Arcturus the bear is thoughtful and wise. When I had them, my Skoll was very angry-- Polaris was good for leveling, but he needed more of a warrior as a partner for life, and he and Arisia parted ways. My ghostcrawler just never clicked-- he was too enigmatic for Rissa, and Loque is another that never really bonded with my little belf huntress.

Just looking at the pose and outfit of your Hunter, I can see a eager, bouncy spirit wolf at his side. ;D

Oh wow, that was beautifully worded Arisia. You managed to breathe some life into Lanterna. Thanks for your input.

I'm still teetering back and forth, but I still have some time to decide before patch 4.2 hits. Who knows, I might end up with 2 spirit beasts after all.

I wound up with 2 myself that I can't bear to part with. I released my other 2 this past week, no regrets. But yeah, Karoma or Ahnka would work, I see him with something more active as opposed to the contemplativeness of most other sb's.

My BE Khitsune runs with Loque. As she has a Japanese / Shinto background, he seemed a good fit as "Raiju", but really I think any of the spirit beasts would look good with a BE... other than perhaps Arcturis (I always thought of him as more of a dwarf or human pet owing to his chunkiness). YMMV.

I'm a fan of the cat family... so either Loque or Gondria... I prefer the roar of Loque, but like the movement and body shape of Gondria. Cats next to a BE is awesome

I would say keep Karoma for now-he is a real pain in the ass to camp these days. Then, after the patch, take a look at Ban'Thalos, as your siggy makes me think that you like birds.

Personally I always run with Loque'nahak and Karoma on Shade, my 85 hunter. Kitsune just got Loque as well, and I've not changed out for any of the others on her either. Loque is my fave spirit beast in game, even counting the upcoming ones.

What is wrong with having more then one spirit beast? Shade has them all.
